The VCR doesn't have a digital tuner. It has an analogue tuner. So it won't pick up the digital TV transmissions. You need a Freeview box connected to the house aerial system, and then connected to the VCR by a SCART lead. Put the VCR on one of the AV channels so it "sees" the signal from the Freeview box as a predicament for its own tuner.
Some older TVs had a video out function. This no longer applies to new TVs.
TO REMOVE CHANNELS
1. Press the MENU button on the remote control to open the OSD.
2. Press the Navigation (UP/DOWN) buttons to select the Setup menu.
3. Press OK to open the menu.
4. Press the Navigation (UP/DOWN) buttons to select MANUAL SEARCH.
5. Press OK to select.
6. Select the channel you want to delete from the channel list.
7. Press the Navigation (LEFT) toErase Channel.
8. Press EXIT to close the OSD.
Hello, my name is Tommy Faust with DISH Network. I'm sorry you're having problems programming the remote, I would be happy to help.
What you would want to do to program the remote is this: 1. Hold the TV button until all buttons on top light up. 2. Release and it will be blinking. 3. Point the remote at the TV and enter 505 and press # If it's working hit SAT and you're good to go! If not repeat the steps but try putting 627 instead of 505. If still not working try 756.
Hope this helps you! If you have any questions feel free to post here or reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org
I don't know about the 612 but the 722 I have has green tabbed control for IR control of output 1 and by default of tuner 1 and controls the OTA tuner and will work with many IR remotes if set to address 1--they don't send the address. The blue tabbed one is for RF-controlled output 2 and tuner 2. Setting it to single (vs. dual) mode allows either remote to control tuner 1 and swap to tuner 2 and do PIP. Unfortunately the 612 does not have this mode.I haven't had a combo remote work well with tuner 1 even. It is much better to use the Dish remote for most of the work, well only volume and power on the TV. There are a lot of buttons most combo remotes will not have control of. Hey, I have 2 VIP722 and the TV remotes on the chair arm.Check with menu-menu to see which address code and control mode is set. But if manual allows and you can pull tab after opening battery slide and change switch beneath, you may be able to use as IR remote in preparation for your combo, just to be sure controls sent correctly. (Hold Sat button until all light, press address 1, press # to set remote [lights go out], then press record to set receiver while you watch menu-menu. less than 10 sec per step.)-Ken
check to see if your t.v. is connected to your cable if it is connected properly and you are sure that every thing is connected .call a tech to repair the t.v. the problem could be in the tuner or IF circuit.good luck.
