I have exacly the same problem.

I wake up in the middle of the night with my TV switched on.

I have now started removing the plug from the back.

The TV is only one week old but this is really annoyng me.

I have updated the software and the problem has changed, the timers now seem to be ok, however if a timer is set and I use the sleep timer the tele comes on every hour or so. Like you it keeps waking me up, I think samsung know about the porblem but are ignoring it.

    Good luck

Hey Devaman, like you I have just upgraded the software and disabled all of the timers, but most importantly I have disabled the "update whilst on stanby" option from the SETUP menu. It now seems to behave...
One more comment, I was very dishappointed by Samsung lack of interest, they never bothered to reply to my email, which I think is extremely rude... but then, am I surprised? :¬)
Peace

My Samsung 3d TV turns itself off and on at will. Does anyone know why?

Depends on how fast this is happening. If it is the same time everyday then you may have the sleep/awake timer set on. If this is at random times my first stop for looking would be the power supply board.

TV turns itself off?

I am sharing four cases in which your tv either turns itself off or appears to turn itself off.

TV appears to be off
  • You using your tv as a monitor or your pc is in sleeping mode.
  • Your cable or satellite Box is not outputting a signal.

TV turns iteself off
  • The sleep timer is set.
  • The off timer is set.

Your tv appears to be off:

If you are using the tv as a monitor If you are using tv as a monitor and the stand-by light only
blinks for a few seconds when you press the power button, your pc is in the sleeping mode. To take your pc out of sleep, press a key from your key board or move the mouse.Tv turns on.

If you are using TV with a cable or satellite Box

If you have a cable or satellite Box your Tv may appear be off because the cable or satellite Box is not outputting a signal.Press the guide or info button on the cable or satellite Box remote control.

if the screen displays info or guide data, the problem is caused by the Box,you must call your cable provider.
if screen does not display info data, change the source on your TV.

Samsung UN46C6400 turns OFF randomly.

Have you checked all the secondary voltages at its main power regulator board. I think you haven't. If so, check the link given here. It has http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ voltage details to all sockets at the power supply section. But you have to find the relative post there. Pull up older posts by its left side bar, or see it in Timeslide option.

Put a new bulb in that i got from e-bay, tv switches on perfect but after a little while it turns itself off then red and green light start to flashing. i don't know what the problem is ????

Hello, I try to help. But your questions not spesific.
Below are conditions lamp indicators that appear blinking and solutions (for samsung) :

1. If Timer and Lamp blinking --> Auto timer on/off was been set, picture will appear ~ 25 second.
2. If Timer and Standby/Temp blinking --> A cooling fan inside the set is not operating properly.
3. If Lamp and Standby/Temp blinking --> The lamp cover on the rear of the set is not installed properly.

I hope that solve your problem.
Thanks

Turns on and off

If your TV turns off by itself, first check whether or not it has a built-in sleep timer by consulting the instruction manual of the TV in the Manuals/Specs/Warranty section of the Sony® eSupport Web site. If the TV does not have a sleep timer, or the timer is not set to turn the TV off, service may be required to resolve the issue.

the top of your screen.
