I just bought a used 625 receiver from someone on a classifieds ad (our apartment complex has dish network for everyone, you're just responsible for getting your own box) and I don't know how to hook it up. I'm pretty sure it came with all of the cables. we're using it for only one tv. is there a diagram that shows what cables go where?

The Dish 625 as with the other Dish DVR systems has a fan built into the back of the unit. The fan runs nearly all the time to keep the internal drive cool. Sometimes the fan sounds louder that normal. what I do from time to time is take my shop vac and or the small vac u you use to clean your computer. and clean the vents around the fan. I do this on my desk top computer also.. Hope this helps.
You can definitely use a VCR with your DISH 625 receiver. To set this up you would need to connect your VCR between your receiver and the TV.
The easiest way would be to run RCA cables from the TV Out to the VCR's TV input. From there, all you would have to do is run cables from the VCR's Out to the TV. Make sure the VCR and receiver are powered on and change to the input on the TV based on where the cables are plugged in on the TV.
Hi my nameis Mike Houston of DISH Network and I see you want to get your recordings offyour DVR receiver to a hard drive through your USB slot. Depending on thereceiver and external hard drive or device you have and you will need to makesure it meets all the requirements, if you are using the 522 or 625 DVRreceivers you can only use the Pocket DISH portable media players. Those modelsthat are compatible are; AV402E, AV500E and AV700E, if you have any questionsplease e-mail me at [email protected].
Hello! Dan Busa with Dish Network here. I know you've probably gotten this up and running by now but just for reference to anyone on this site. Any cabling or connectors used to carry signal to the receiver should be rated for 2,150 mhz if this is not the case you will typically get signal loss messages.
The 625 receiver does not have a setting to control closed caption. This is a setting from your TV itself. I would look at your TV manual to see how you can turn the feature on. I hope this helps.
Ok your dish network wont play through the LHT854? Which Dish network receiver do you have 211, 311, 625, 612, 722? From the owners manuel for the LHT854 it looks like you can only hook up the audio from another source by an optical cable, so how is the LHT854 hooked up to the dish network receiver?
Officially, no you would not be able to since you no longer pay the $5.98 DVR fee which Dish charges for the DVR. Wish I could have given you better news. Thanks for using Fix Ya and let me know if I can further assist you.
