I joined the usb wire to the computer from the camara but it is not transfering

Take it easy all you have to get is the cord that connects the USB on the computer end to the side of your perticular camera
turn both on your computer should give you instuctions next good luck

Forget about doing it that way. Use a separate card reader....problem solved!

Sorry, but the answer you seek is much too long for this site. You need to sit down with the instruction book for your camera and then the help section for beginners on the Ebay site.

You will need a USB lead from your PC to your camera, then it should download the drivers for you camera to transfer your photo's

First, check both ends of the USB cable to be sure that the ports and the plugs are properly seated so that the metal pins are able to transfer data. Restart Windows with the cables plugged in, and the camera should be recognized. You also MUST have the camera turned ON in order for the computer to read the fact that it is connected. If these suggestions fail, check your Microsoft Computer Management program to be sure that PlugnPlay devices are automatically recognized by your system.

Start using a card reader.

There is really only one sure way to transfer images from a digital camera to your computer and that is with a card reader ($15-20). Plugging the camera directly into the computer is one of the most problematic areas in digital cameras. It is so much easier to go buy a card reader and plug it into the USB port on your computer. Then remove the memory card from your camera and plug it into the card reader. You can now click and drag or use any normal method to transfer your images. I would also advise a free download called Picasa3 supplied by Google. It will keep your images organized and assist you as your transfer images using your new card reader. It does a whole lot of other things your will like also. Best Wishes.

Most Canon cameras you just plug it in the computer and away it goes... If that doesn't work set it to playback mode and then plug it into the USB port. If that still doesn't work, open up My Computer on your computer and see if it shows up, if it does right click it and make sure the Auto Play is set to transfer the pictures and is not turned off.

I would never use my camera to transfer pix to computer. I would buy a (usb or other) card reader and save wear and tear on camera. If this does not work for you give me more info.
