In some DirecTV receivers, doing a complete system reset will erase the viewing history (along with all recorded shows, channel settings, etc.)

But on most of the newer receivers, the PPV info is actually stored on the Access Card, and so resetting the receiver will not delete this information.

The only option in that case is to buy more PPV shows until they push the former purchases off of the bottom of the screen...

You run the risk of running out of space on your computer if you add too many programs without uninstalling some. It is a relatively easy process, but you should be sure you are not removing a program that is necessary to the operation of your computer.

Click "Start" and select "Programs." Click "Control Panel" and "Programs" and "Programs and Features." Browse the list of programs on your computer and select one that you want to remove. Click "Uninstall." You may be prompted for permission from the administrator to remove the program. Enter the administrator password or confirmation if necessary. Check the properties of the program if it is not listed in "Programs." You can do this by right-clicking on the program desktop icon and selecting "Properties." Check to see if the program is compatible with the version of Windows that you are using. Click "Start" and "Run," to manually remove the programs if the uninstall option does not completely uninstall the program. Type "Regedt32" in the box and click "OK." Locate the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall" registry key and click "Export" under the "File" tab. Click "Desktop" on the "Export Registry File" dialog box. Type "Uninstall" in the "File Name" box and select "Save." The left panel of the Registry Editor will display the programs that are currently installed. Right-click the key in the left panel of the Registry Editor window. Click "Delete." Click "Yes" when you are asked to confirm deletion of the program. Click the "File" menu and select "Exit." I lost my remote and need to switch the tv so I can get Directv - how can I do this without my remote

I can help you with your Toshiba TV & DirecTV remote control.

To get your TV setup so that you can view your DirecTV on it, I recommend you program your DirecTV remote to control your TV and then use the DirecTV remote to change the input of your TV to view the DirecTV programming.

You can choose between searching for the control code and
entering a code from the Toshiba TV list.

This is a list of all the Toshiba TV control codes for DIrecTV remote controls:

11524, 10154, 10156, 11256,
10060, 12006, 11945, 11936,
11935, 11918, 11704, 11656,
11635, 11369, 11356, 11343,
11325, 11306, 11156, 10845,
10832, 10822, 10650, 10149,
10148, 10036, 11971

I hope that helps.

I have a rca guide plus gemstar universal remote for 6 components and need to program a daewoo 13in tv with built in vcr

Okay, when you purchased the remote, it should have had a list of TV brands listed. What you do is find the brand of television that you, which you have listed as a Daewoo, look at the description listed on that paper. It may have a few codes. Follow the instructions for the NEW remote. It will tell you to press a certain button, watch it flash 2 times and then enter the Daewoo code. It should program after that. If you have the OLD remote, you can "learn" the buttons from it to your new one by pointing the remotes towards each other. You will have to press "VCR" and then press, FFWD, REW, PLAY, PAU, etc., pointing the remotes at each other each time you press the button on the old. Sounds confusing but you will see it is very easy.

Post back if it does not work.

Delete from add delete at control panel

The only way to modify the add/remove programs list is to edit the registry. If you are uncomfortable doing this, get someone to help who is, or just leave the registry alone.
It's best to back up the registry in case you make a mistake.
To back up your registry, see this article.

On to the fun part. Follow these instructions exactly. Note: this applies to Windows XP only. If you have Windows Vista, please modify the question.
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type regedt32, and then click OK.
  3. In Registry Editor, locate the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
  4. In the left pane, click the Uninstall registry key, and then click Export on the File menu.
  5. In the Export Registry File dialog box that appears, click Desktop in the Save in list, type uninstall in the File name box, and then click Save.
  6. Each key listed under Uninstall in the left pane of Registry Editor represents a program that is displayed in the Currently installed programs list of the Add or Remove Programs tool. To determine which program that each key represents, click the key, and then view the following values in the details pane on the right: DisplayName: The value data for the DisplayName key is the name that is listed in Add or Remove Programs.

    -and-

UninstallString: The value data for the UninstallString key is the program that is used to uninstall the program.
  7. After you identify the registry key that represents the program that you removed but which is still displayed in the Currently installed programs list of Add or Remove Programs, right-click the key in the left pane of the Registry Editor window, and then click Delete.

Click Yes in response to the "Are you sure you want to delete this key and all of its subkeys?" message.
  8. On the File menu, click Exit to quit Registry Editor.
  9. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs.

In the Currently installed programs list, verify that the program whose registry key you deleted is no longer listed.
  10. Do one of the following:
    • If the program list is not correct in Add or Remove Programs, double-click the Uninstall.reg file that you saved to your desktop in step 5 to restore the original list of programs in the registry.

      -or-
    • If the program list is correct in Add or Remove Programs, right-click the Uninstall.reg file on your desktop, and then click Delete.
