I have a samsung who forgot pasword, how to reset the pasword

There's good news and bad news. The good news is that you might well have forgotten that the default password on the Samsung phone is 00000000 (that's eight zeroes). The bad news is that if you've changed it to something else and that's what you've forgotten, you might well need to take the phone in to a service center to have them help you break it back open.
First, here's what Samsung says about working with passwords on the Security
Use this menu to protect the phone against unauthorized use by managing the several access codes of your phone and SIM card.
Note: If you enter an incorrect PIN/PIN 2 three times in succession, the SIM card is blocked. To unblock it you need to enter your PUK/PUK2 (Personal Unblocking Key). The codes are supplied by your network operator.
PIN check
The 4-to-8-digit PIN (personal identification number) protects your SIM card against unauthorised use. When this feature is enabled, the phone requires your PIN each time it is switched on.
Change PIN
Use this menu to change your PIN. The PIN Check feature must be enabled to use this feature.
Phone Lock
The Phone Lock feature locks the phone from unauthorised use.
When this feature is enabled, you must enter a 4- to 8-digit phone password each time the phone is switched on.
The password is preset to 00000000. To change the password, use the Change Password menu.
Change Password
Use this menu to change your phone password. The password is preset to 00000000.
Privacy
Use this menu to lock your media contents, including MMS messages, emails, images, videos, music files and sounds:
1. Press [OK/i] to check the item(s) to lock.
2. Press Save to lock the marked items.
3. Enter the phone password and press OK.
To access a locked item, you need to enter the phone password.

If that doesn't help you, as I said, you'll need to take your phone to the local service center and ask them for help. Just a tip: bring some sort of proof of purchase or ownership so they can differentiate between you losing your password and someone else showing up with a stolen telephone.
Good luck!

How to unblock puk

Hello,

If your phone comes up with a display requesting for the PUK code, then it means your sim card is already locked and you need to type your unblocking code to get it opened.

The PUK means personal unblocking key. It is found inside the sim pack on the sim carrier where you broke out your sim card from. There are some numbers on it, Your mobile number, your pin code your PUK code which mostly used to be 8 digits and your bar code at the bottom of the sim carrier.

Enter the 8 digit code that is on the sim card carrier, that is your PUK code, then you enter a new password, then it will prompt you to re-enter it, then your sim will be unblocked. Be sure to enter a code that you will find easy to remember, if not the sim will be blocked again and you will be requiring the PUK code to unblock it.

If you do not have the Sim carrier, then you have to contact the service providers customer care so they will give it to you.

Take care and good luck

HOW TO FIND MMC PASSWORD

1. Install any filemanager on your mobile ("Seleq" is the best)
(Like: http://www.s60tips.com/2007/03/07/file-manager-for-s60-3rd-edition/ )

2. Go to your filemanager when you open it, it sould be like this:
C:
D:
E:
Z:

2. then go on C: press "options" then press "find..." or "search" then go to "Name" then in Name write "MMCSTORE" and then press "OK" so then it will find a file called "MMCSTORE" so then press on it "options"
a)If you have infrared or bluetooth on your PC press "send" and choose what you have..
b) if you have card reader then press "edit" then "copy" then go to E: then press on the file "others" and then press "edit" and then "paste".

3. When you do this and the file "MMCSTORE" is on your PC right click on the file then select "open with" and then select the "Notepad". So then open the "MMCSTORE" and you will see the passward.

OR

This GUIDE is for the people who knows little more about mobiles !!!

1. Go to C: and search in it the file called MMCSTORE.
2. It will find it so then copy it via bluetooth to your PC or via infrared or via card reader.
3. Now it is on your PC open the file MMCSTORE with Notepad and and in the file you will sea the password

OR

There are two reasonably simple solutions.

The first is to simply format the MMC in your PC or other device.

The second is not destructive to data, and requires you to have a file manager other than the standard Nokia one; We recommend Fexplorer. After downloading and installing this, follow these instructions:

Open FExplorer
Move up/down till you are highlighting C:
Press right on the direction-pad
Press "Options", "File", "Find"
Type in "mmcstore*" (not case-sensitive)
Press "OK"
You should see a file called MMC store (It is actually normally in C:/System)
Press "Options", "File", "Editor (Viewer)"
The password should be in plain text.
Type in the password the next time you are asked for it.

You may also decide to disable the password after this:
Open the program "Memory"
Press "Options", "Remove password"
Type in the password.
