There are several common factors that will affect the colors in your printed image or photo. Start by checking your paper. Some paper tints can cause problems with color images, so make sure that you're using plain white paper, not another color such as beige, yellow, or blue. Even an off-white shade can affect your colors.

In addition, paper type can slightly influence your ink color. Highly absorbent papers can draw in the ink so quickly that the printed image may seem dull or a little washed out. If this is the case, try a coated paper that is specifically intended for color printing. If you're printing those important family vacation photos, use a good-quality glossy paper.

If your colors are way off, you may be running out of one or more ink colors. For example, blue and yellow are mixed to make green, so if your grass seems blue rather than green, you may be running out of yellow. Check your ink cartridges and replace any that are low or exhausted.

Printed photos grass and other colours come up lilac

Try re-seating the toner cartridges by removing them and carefully placing them back in correctly. If this does not work, you may have to buy new toner cartridges.

Printer is printing with a pink hue

Your printer mixes the 3 colours in the tri-colour ink-cartridge to achieve each colour.

So, printing in 'PINK' suggests that one of the other 2 "primary" colours is OUT-OF-INK.

Replace the ink-cartridge.

My pictures are printing with a purple hue. I

You still have some clogged heads.Head cleaning once is sometimes not enough to clean your heads properly, especially if you are using 'compatible' ink cartridges. You need to clean your heads again, and possibly still again, until your test print pattern produces the correct colours.

Cannot get to print in color. everything is black

Print out a test print to see what comes out. If the printer is printing the colour blocks then the printer should be OK. If not then check the colour inks to make sure they are OK. Then run a full cleaning cycle and reprint the test sheet. Keep doing this until the inks are printing OK then run an alignment test and adjust as necessary. Next check the settings of the print driver to make sure that you have not defaulted to Black & White or Greyscale printing only. Also check the printer to make sure that the setup is OK and no defaults to Black & White / Greyscale printing have been set. If all this is OK then the most likely culprits will be the interface lead to the PC / Mac. Check that this is inserted and secured correctly at each end and is not damaged. If this is OK then uninstall the printer driver and download and install the latest printer driver from HP support at the following link

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=61236&lc=en&cc=uk&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=uk

Simply choose your operating system to proceed.

Once installed reboot the PC / Mac and all should be OK.

Printer keeps processing - nothing happens - no print

Not really sure about Mac, but if this happens on a PC, I would first uninstall the printer (software-wise) then download the latest drivers and install.
