Easiest fix is to replace the caliper. There only about 35 $ at autozone and as important as brakes are its best not to try and sub the wrong parts on something that stops your car. Doesn't sound like I would use that mechanic if he did stuff like that anyway.

Bleading brakes on 2001 ford Taurus no traction lock. ABS pump has been changed can not get the air out and left front caliper will not pass fluid

You need a special tool to hold the ABS hydraulic control valves open during the bleeding procedure. So a well equipped shop needs to do this as the tool is very expensive.

I don't see the brake bleeder nut on the rear of my 2001 Ford Taurus LX. Are they bleed from the front only?

Probably is broken off. In drum brakes cylinders, you can just bleed the brake cup by tilting it outward at the top, allowing bubbles to leave.
Disc brakes can't be done that way. You might loosen the brake line and see if bubbles will leave. It will be messy. don-ohio (:^)

Raplaicin tail brake turn signal backup lamp signal

You access the bulb through the trunk. You will need to pull back trunk lining to reach the screws holding the lens cover in place. Undo the screws to remove the entire lens cover. Depending SE, SL, SES series you may be able to simply twist and pull bulb socket out without removing lens cover. The bulb is a typical auto bulb and is twist in. The cost of a new bulb is about 2 dollars.

I want to change brake pads on my 03 Mazda Protege SE. What is best way to release hand break cable from caliber, remove caliber? This is the first set of breaks for this vehicle, but I've replaced pads on...

Some calipers have a bolt holding the hand brake mechanism to the body of the caliper. hold the mechanism with a spnner or If yours dont simply lever the mechanism with a bar or long screw driver. Place a pair of lock pliers/ mole grips on the cable(not too tight or you'll fray/damage the cable) then remove the cable from the caliper. When you get the pads out use a screw driver or wind back tool to reset the caliper travel or you will damage the caliper or lose the hand brake altogether.

not exactly sure of what your asking but they do have screw type calipers that use a special tool to screw them back into place. I have used needle nose vise grips.
