Makita 9227c problem

Hi, I have a makita 9227c buffer. The problem I'm having is after about 5 minutes of use it quits. I checked the brushes and they looked fine, but I replaced them anyway. Of course I have the same problem. Do you think the switch is causing my problem?

Makita 9227c polisher started clicking and i smell smoke

sounds like you have a problem with the armature. To easily check UNPLUG tool and turn the spindle by hand and listen for the clicking. It sounds like it may be a raised commutator bar. You can also remove the brushes and look into the brush tube with a flashlight and look for a major discoloration of the bars or one that is raised.

I have 2 makita variable speed polishers....i have fixed them myself many times..its either brushes or cord...My older one is two years old,and it is really acting up replaced brushes yesterday and stopped...

look for excessive lambs wool in the area around the armature/commutator. Then look for the commutator being cupped real bad and if so you would need to replace it or have it turned at a repair shop if it is not that bad. Clean the brush tubes also to make sure the brushes move freely.

Hi ! My unit do not turn to its right rpm, erratic power.

could be a couple things. UNPLUG tool and remove one handle half and see if it is jammed up with lambswool from the bonnet. It can get under the brushes causing the erratic power. If thoroughly clean the entire motor housing and then remove and check the brushes for wear. Let me know if you need more assistance.

A makita 9227C does not work

Hi, Unfortunately there is no external test, It has to be opened and troubleshot with a multimeter. Especially something with a variable speed controller, power cord, brushes, switches, ect. It could be several things. If you are technical enough to take it apart let us know we will try to help. Good Luck to you!

Makita 9227c stall

Hi hope to help
Have you tried this unplug the machine! then cut the cable about 6" from the machine then strip the machine and rewire the long length of cable back to the switch. The 6" that has been cut from the machine discard it.
The problem i used to get is where the cable is clamped in the handle the wire inside the insulation cracks so that when the machine is in one position is ok but then when is moved it goes off again.
It also could be the field coil (part of the motor) if it gets hot then cuts out the field could be braking down!!!
hope this helps.
