I just bought-june 14, 2008. The Minidisc provided in the purchase was sandwhiched in the packing, I almost threw it away before finding it.
The Minidisc when inserted in my disc driver does not come on automatically and does nothing when I open it manually. I tried installing the software on it and using it, but it continues to do nothing.
When I connected the MP3 player to my laptop with the USB Cable provided, a message appeared "USB Device not recognized".
Plug it into the computer, when windows sees it it will ask you what to do with it... choose to open or explore the files on it. You will see a DVR file, open it and drag music to it from whereever you have music on your computer (MP3 files).
Drag and drop them to the DVR file ONE AT A TIME, wait until one finishes then do another. When you're done, eject it using the windows eject icon at the system tray (by your clock). DO NOT JUST UNPLUG IT, it will wipe it clean and say FORMAT!

Going by what instructions say can be a real headache huh... here's a way around all that too legit stuff... your craig should show up in my computer as a removable disk... right click on it and go to explore to view all the thing on the player... now minimize the window for the time being.... if you rip your CDs correctly and play in windows media player.. then they should be listed under-- My Documents/My music.... keep that window open for the time being and find the music you want on your player... go back to the window of the removable disk and find where all your music is stored in it.... now with these two windows side by side... drag and drop the music in your music folder into your Craig (removable disk) folder... you should see a window open saying copying with an ETA.... after your done putting your music in check and see if everything worked out okay... and if ya need anymore help don't hesistate to ask... good lick////peace
