Cant print anything after replacing ink cartidges for brother 240c

there are 4 cartidge in the printer , and usualy when getting empty , message will tell you empity ink ,
1- try to open and close the ink cartidge more than once .
2- before that check the cartidge front out let ( should be opend) by turning the niylon on it , this should be done when inserting the cartidge.

Remove the ink cartridge and check the bottom to make sure all tape has been removed. A frequent problem is small pieces if remaing on new cartidges which block the ink flow.

For reasons known only to Brother you are unable to print ANYTHING if you are out of any color of ink. If you are out of black and need to only print in color it WILL NOT work

If you haven't changed it recently, it may be out of black ink. The product code for Black is LC51BK.

It is recommended to change the cartidges together, however if one of the cartridges still has ink in it, you do not have to replace them together. The printer may still print with an empty cartirdge but if you are printing something in color it will print without the missing color causing the document to look funny. Hope this helps.

Regarding your problem: If one of the color ink cartidges is out of ink, the MFC 240C printer will not operate when you only install a black ink cartidge. It requires that all four catridges have ink available in them for it to function. When you examine a cartridge it may appear that it has a little ink in it when you get message that the cartridges needs to be replaced because a little ink remains to prevent the print head from drying out. sure. if you re lucky the generic ink hasn t destroyed the ph bk channel yet:

use skyhorse carts (http://www.skyhorse.net.cn ) who built good and reliable carts with a very good ink quality!

To get bk again:

press menu tehn start bk copy then fourtimes arrow up. machines will
be in maintenance mode. press 7 then 6 then 4 then start bk copy. machine will initialize the carts, refresh all tubes and ph channels with fesh ink and eliminates the air bubbles (quite a big prob within brother inkjet printers). When finished press 7 -6 -3 to
run a power purge. leave the maintenance mode by pressing 9 then 9. do run a test print.

If you cant see ANY bk the ph is clogged and cant be fixed any more. it needs replacing then.
