I have a Leaptop, model C9504 PMP 1.6 GHz Note Book, manufactured by HCL Inforsystems Ltd. came with Lynx install on it. It has mobile Intel (R) 915GM/GMS, Express Chipset mother board having Intel (R) Pentium (R) M Processor 1.6 GHz. I installed Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Buold 2600) and after that I had to insert the mother board CD for loading drivers but the CD was misplaced and when some other drivers CD was inserted in the CD ROM Drive power supply suddenly stoped may be due to some contact proble. When restared all other things works including system sound but doesn't play other sounds. While trouble shooting it was found the Device Manager shows that Other Devices like Multimedia Audio Controller, Network Controller, PCI Modem, and other PCI Bridge Devce maked with yellow color question mark (?). Further, in the Device Manager under the group of sound, video and game controllers, the Legacy Audio Drivers properties no driver was installed under the properties Tab (Multimedia Devices). I have tried to down load the driver for this device from internet but not yet suceeded. I shall be greatful, if any body can tell me where from I can down load the required drivers as my driver CD is not traceable. -- Dileep (dileepkumar.sharma@gmail.com)

Sound drivers

the sound card can be an onboard chip, built into the motherboard or a card installed into the mother board and thus more information is needed to assist you. You can get into device manager and delete the sound card driver/ items and then restart and windows could redetect it, or you can get the proper driver package from the motherboard, computer, or sound card manufacturer to reload it. I also can remote into the computer to determine what's wrong and attempt to fix it.

Can you give more info on the computer, motherboard, sound card or manufacturer of system ?

Medion driver ms6701

Driver missing? Driver not compatible? Sound disabled in BIOS?
Sound is faulty? Best way to test this: Make a Linux live test disk.
Make a 32bit or 64bit version on to a DVD, place in cd/dvd drive and restart computer - choose boot option or make sure the computer boots from cd/dvd first. Once you are in PinGuy you can just go to youtube and watch a video with sound. If the sound is still not present, sound card very possibly faulty.

you might have to uninstall then restart your computer then reinstall both the sound drivers and the sound card make sure you have both of these devices backed up to a disc before uninstalling
a yellow? question mark means you need to install/update driver to do this
right click to install driver also
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers
click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select appropriate speakers also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there
also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar
if his does not fix the problem

have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer
hope this helps

My pc no have sound driver

Hello,
You need to find the make/model of your PC. Once you have done this, goto the manufacturer's website and install the latest driver for the sound card inside your computer. If that doesn't work, there are two steps you can take to update your sound card.
1) Goto Start > Control Panel > Device Manager > Sound, Video, and Game Controllers. You should see your Sound Card on this list. If it's not there, goto View and click on Show Hidden Devices. Look at what kind of sound card you have and head to the website to update the Drivers. If it's not in your Device Manager, open up your computer and look on the sound card for a manufacturer name and model. Once you have that, goto the manufacturer's website and install the latest drivers.

If you don't know what to look for, or if you've never opened up your computer before, take it to a computer technician and have them take a look for you. Remember to ground yourself before touching anything inside your computer. If you are not grounded you could very well blow out a vital piece of the computer's hardware.
