As old as the unit is the compressor has most likley gone bad. For this size compressor the replacement should not cost that much. You can call an appliance repair shop and let them know you unit and that you need a new compressor installed they should be able to quote you a cost on replacement.
Good luck hope this helped

Buzzing sound... Turntable stopped. food heats up but uneven. No microwave fan when heating.. no light inside expensive fix?? Unit is 10 years old

If the microwave oven is 10 years old then it is time to consider a new unit, by your description it is going into cascade failure where different parts have stopped working, the buzzing sound is the magnetron warning you, it is about to fail. The fans job is to keep the magnetron cool while it is running.

The unit has never worked properly and is only a year old. It does not produce any heat. How can I resolve the problem?

Is it giving cool? If yes, to solve heat problem, set th temp +5 degree than your room temp and mod in " Heat". If no heat and no cool means check your compressor is working.

I have had a GE Profile Artica Refer for 6 years and have nothing but problems. After 3 years, we had to have I think the mother board replaced because the refer would not cool....would run at 50 degrees...

The old style ice boxes used a mercury bulb switch that shut power on and off according to the desired temp. Not now brother. We decided that was not good enough so what brainiacs came up with were electronic monitoring. Sound familiar? A group of thermisters are placed around the icebox to monitor ambient temps. 177300d.jpgThese thermisters( thermostat resisters) change in resistance when temperatures change. The fancy control board relies on these suckers to give it good intel when to shut down cooling systems. You should consult your tech sheet to see if the ohms readings on each thermister is within 10% of specs.

The last couple of days our heat pump will not cool below 80 degrees even if we set the temp to 65. The unit keeps running. last week the heat pump worked very well. The unit is 10 years old.

Check the outside unit. Feel the larger line to see if it is cold. Is the condensor dirty. If you have a way to measure temp. Take the return air at the filer and the closest grille temp and subtract. It should be between 19 to 23 degress. If not you have a problem. Could be refrigerant or some other problem. Either way you need to get it checked out by a service tech. Ask for free estimate that way you are going to know how much it cost before hand. Rus

I recently bought a 4 ton 14.5 SEER Rudd Spilt system using R-410 and matching Rudd furnace. This system replaced a Lennox 10 SEER 4 ton unit. Now that it has gotten hot in Baton Rouge LA 90-93 degrees....

Sounds like the Unit might be low on charge. But without correct readings not sure.
The new unit with 410 will actually cool better due to higher boiling point temp. of freon type.Poor air circulation could also cause problem.Such as dirty filter, too slow fan speed, dirty coil. Also could have obstruction in freon lines either at pump,in line set,or in coil.
Get someone u trust to check it out and ask for their Rudd Dealership Training Credentials.

Ac not cooling

Try turning the main isolator off for 10 minutes to reset the system. If it doesn't clear the error, count how many times the light flashes which will give you the error code.
