Why won't my Logitech Traackman MArble FX work with Windows 7?

If you are trying to convert your Logitech Trackman Marble FX from PS2 to USB so it will work with Windows 7, you can't just convert the port type - you have to get an "adapter" that converts the PS2 signal to a USB signal. See for ATen - UC 100KMA. WEB SIte:
http://www.aten.com/products/KVM/KVM-Modules-&-Accessories/PS2-to-USB-Adapter~UC100KMA.html#.U5sYrCi4NAE.

It allows you to convert a PS2 keyboard and PS2 mouse/trackball with the one device. It's what I use and it works just fine. The regular $2.00 port adapter was useless.

They are on EBAY sometimes for $20 or so. GOOD LUCK. :)

Need to use a Dell L100 keyboard on my old Win 98 SE computer (custom built). No USB on computer so tried an adaptor. Doesn't work at all. Do I need to download a driver? Where can I find this to...

Hello,
Those USB to PS2 adaptors are hit and miss. They shouldn't need a driver. What you could do is buy a USB PCI controller, which will allow you to connect USB devices to your legacy system. Best buy sells one for $20 and it works for 98 SE - Windows 7.

I am trying to use my Dell keyboard with my Toshiba laptop through a PS2 to a USB adapter. The message is that the USB is not recognized.

I would believe that it could be the Ps2/USB adapter is broken. From personal experience I have never found a Ps2 to usb adapter not to work. I used it for multiple devices on both ends (using it on Ps3 with a PS2 keyboard or mouse, for example).

It's also the dell keyboard is defunct.

I have a new Dell computer, which has no PS2 port.

No, unfortunatly there is none unless you specificaly ask Dell for a usb driver.

It's a common myth that users think USB has built in drivers in it's hardware. The only resolution to this issue is to ask the manufacturer for a new driver for this specific item to run under usb.

Block audio on keyboard, I want to use orriginal source

I have managed to solve the problem by contacting the retailer. I believe you need to change windows to classic view
In the Taskbar, select the audio/sound icon. In the properties option, select from the menu the audio device output required from the drop down list. Under the Default tab "Default Device" select the onboard sound card chosen.

I no longer have to use the audio port cable that came with the keyboard. I've removed it completely.
I hope this helps others who experience similar probs.

Thanks

Well this problem has nothing to do with your Operating System. This has everything to do with your System Bios.

Basically, the first thing you need to determine is "Is it USB or PS2?"

If it's USB:
1) Is it installed in a USB Hub? It might not have enough power, try a different USB port.
2) Go into the system bios. Look for an option that says "Enable USB Support" make sure it's enabled.

If it's PS2:
1) The connection might be lose, turn the computer off, unplug it, plug it back in.
2) Try a different PS2 Keyboard, same problem? Your PS2 ports are failing, buy a USB Keyboard.

Use with usb adaptor

If the USB to PS2 adapter has 2 PS2 ports, make sure it is in the correct one, but this should not be the problem. I have heard that some PS2 keyboards do not work with some USB to PS2 adapters.. Too much trouble to get a USB keyboard?
