Hi what you need to do is get onto the tvs menu and turn off the auto function that selects best picture like widscreen 16.9 the screen ratio if you put it on one of the other settings other than auto you wont have this problem just try each setting untill you have correct picture so as it fills the screen.

xbox 360`s work on a scart connection if you dont have the scart adapter for the cables then plug them into the red yellow and white scokets on the tv at the front and with the remote controll select av3 this should cure your problem

Cant tune tv in to use xbox 360

Check the scart lead by substitution, try another source of input, (game machine or dvd player,) it,s not uncommon to find bad solder joints on the print, where the scart socket is soldered to the mother board of the telly. there is no tuning as such for scart sockets, but you can get them in the wrong mode? S-video etc? but you should, in that case, get some sort of picture. Good luck! Nick

TV keeps flicking off and on. Picture will go away and fade back

Seems like a bad contact somewhere - could be bad / deteriorated solder connections somewhere on the circuit board, broken wires or similar - check any connectors (especially in the area where you noticed sparking), see if the pins have bad solder contacts, also check other components - resolder any bad connections, this might solve the problem.

My 36" Flat-screen CRT Philips TV turns itself off

I'm getting the exact same thing with a 26" model. First I found AV2 started carrying AV1's input so we put a switch in. Then it starts to shut off with the twice blinking light after viewing the scart input for a while. I'm currently trying feeding it scart set to composite rather than RGB to see if it'll stay on. One other thing - I just got a oneforall remote. I don't suppose you did - in case that is triggering something?

People are reporting a fault with the "painter" chip which is terminal usually. But that seems to manifest as the tv switching to scart input spontaneously. I haven't seen that.

Hope you get somewhere - I'll let you know if I find anything.

I am Unable to connect my Aduio cables from the xbox 360 to my TV

1) Connect the red, white & yellow audio leads in to the 360 scart adapter and then plug this in to the scart socket on the tv
2) change the xbox 360 selector at the back of the console from HD to TV
2) Select the input of scart on the tv

You should now get pictures & sound.

Non-HD picture issues

Sounds like you may have something generating interference, such as a bad cable shield on maybe a ground connection inside your tv. You might try moving the cables while watching the screen and see if the pattern changes. Double pictures on a screen can be caused by "ghosts", which means that you're getting two signals--- one slightly behind the other. Anything oscillating generating a radio frequency may radiate into your circuits causing this strange problem. Stargazer
