Sounds like you could have some infections. Try downloading Malware bytes, and Combo Fix. These programs should help you to see if you need to clean up your PC. If you have windows 8.1 and can't use combo fix get C Cleaner. Just google these names and they will lead you to where you can download them. Use malware bytes before you use either of the other two.
To connect to the Internet you need a few extra things aswell as a network card. 1. You need to sign up with an Internet service provider. 2. Connect a LAN cable from your computer to the DSL or cable modem 3. You need a DSL or cable modem and connect and configure the modem to inaccordance with your Internet service provider's instructions. 4. Install Internet Explorer if it has not been done. 5. If everything has been done correctly, when you open Internet Explorer youcan access the Internet.

Have you tried typing www.google.com into the address bar.
I have had this problem when connecting a new PC. It is usually set to log onto MSN and this has caused me problems.
Also try control panel / internet options / connections / lan settings. and making sure the automatically detect settings is ticked
I am running Windows 7 (the new vista) so I hope I can help. Go to the "Start" button and select "Control Panel". Click on "Network and Internet" and then "Network and Sharing Center". You shouls see something like: Computer =====Network ====== Internet. If there is an "X" on one of the connections, that may help you decide which option further down to try. You can keep me posted if this helps to this point.
First copy the URL of the site that you are being sent to and post it here.
To get your home page back. Go to your IE tools drop down menu and select tools. Then Internet options. At the tip of the box there is a space where you can type in the URL of your desired home page. (example: http://google.com). This should return you to your desired home page when you log onto your computer.
If the spyware that I think you have is what I think it is then you have a pretty nasty bug. But there is a solution.
