My MP600 is not turning on after my home had a power outtage. The power in my home is now on and everything else turns on except my MP600 printer.What doo i need to do to turn it back on?

I am not an expert on this, but my experience is:

I dont have an AC-DC adapter on my MP600, its a two pin mains lead directly inserted into the printer.

I am in the UK and the mains electricity is 230-240V @ 50Htz.

If you have a model that requires a power adaptor then you could buy a generic one as a replacement but make sure that the 'Current rating' (in amps or millamps) and voltage ratings match the old adaptor or you could set fire to your printer/home.

The Power Supplies for the MP600 burn out over time. They are easy to buy and replace:
My MP600 Power supply died as well. Web searches (including Canon) turned up nothing. Called Canon. To order power supply from Canon, call: 866-481-2569 (credit card over the phone, no on-line interface). $34.49 with tax and delivery.
Note: the power supply has black tabs the you push away from the grey power supply case. One tab in front and one in back. The grey power supply box pulls right out of the printer. The internal connector (six colored wires) pulls straight out (there is no release tab/catch). Use small screwdriver or needle nose plyers to carefully remove. Pull/pry the female white nylon connector. Do not pull on the wires.

i have seen the print head go bad in more canon products than any other, and the head stops moving in HP printers more than any other.

you can reset the machine by following the instruction on the owner's manual.

I had this same issue. Lost power in the house for just a second, but after the printer would not turn on. I think that the loss of power caused the printer to get stuck in a locked state. Tried everything I could think of including changing outlets that the printer was plugged into but nothing seemed to work. Saw a troubleshooting tip on the Canon webpage about unplugging the unit for 5 minutes and thought it was hooey, but tried it anyway. Ended up leaving the unit unplugged for probably 15 minutes and when I re-plugged it in it fired right up.
