My computer runs really slow, freezes, internet explorer hardly ever works. help!!

There is no such thing as a windows vista machine. You can install different operating systems on different machines. Your problem is most likely that you're missing drivers for the peripherals.
Download a program called "driver easy" and run it. It will tell you what drivers are missing, once you get all the drivers installed you should find things work better, like once you get your network running then internet explorer will stop having problems.

Tip

Streaming Media and Automatic Refresh

While this feature can be useful to the webmaster, it is often annoying to the average web surfer who prefers a page to load more quickly.
What this does for a webpage is allow it to refresh content if you say, happen to be on a news site, or are checking the Stock market ETC.

But for those who like viewing streaming media, it can drive a person absolutely crazy with excessive commercials.

So here is how you can deal with it (In Firefox anyway)

The automatically refresh web pages feature can be annoying and irritating, can be disorienting due to sudden replacement of content, and probably a waste of bandwidth although some frequently and constantly updated content does deserve to be able to refresh automatically. If you’re not one who is in favor of web pages automatically refreshing, it’s possible to disable, block and prevent web pages from auto refreshing in Firefox.
How to Stop and Block web pages from Auto Refresh or Reload in Firefox
In Firefox, go to Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> General -> Accessibility section, and then tick the check box labeled as Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page.
Checking the option is equivalent to setting accessibility.block autorefresh preference setting in about:config to True.

Internet Security Tip #2

Have you ever noticed those annoying little pop ups that jump out on a webpage if your mouse just happens to touch them?
You didn't click on anything, but now you have this annoying little window that you have to wait for, and it takes it's time leaving your screen.

This is called click jacking!

If this annoys you as much as it bothers me, maybe it's time for you to install the NoScript Firefox, ad on

Here is an excerpt from their web site:

Fight CLICKJACKING Now!The NoScript Firefox extension provides extra protection for Firefox, Flock, Seamonkey and other mozilla-based browsers: this free, open source add-on allows JavaScript,Java andFlash and otherplugins to be executed only by trusted web sites of your choice (e.g. your online bank), and provides the most powerful Anti-XSS protection available in a browser.

I installed this about 5 days ago, and I am amazed at how many things try to load without my knowledge. Like a firewall set to paranoid, this thing needs to be trained to allow the things you want to load, and the beauty is that if you allowed something to load, that you realized after the fact, you didn't want to load, you can easily forbid it from loading instantly and forever.

Something I didn't expect, or see mentioned, was the fact that those annoying little pop unders get nuked too! You know the ones I mean.
The little windows that were hiding behind your browser without you knowing it.

So if you're tired of having the browser control you instead of the other way around, give this little gadget a try.

Homepage changed constant adobe pop up

What does adobe want to do? If adobe wants to update, by all means let it and then the pop up will stop.

You set your homepage back to into Internet Options in the Control Panel. You can click Start/Control Panel/Internet Options and when it opens click the General Tab if it does not open to it and change the home page and hit ok.

You can also get to Internet Options by clicking Tools on Internet Explorer.
