Question about Honeywell Programmable Thermostat Heater

Central heating thermostat

I have bought a house with a honeywell CM61 central heating thermostat. I can't seem to work out how to program it to automatically start and stop the heating at preprogrammed times. There are instructions in the lid but following these does not seem to help

Looks like it was replaced by the CM67 series, try this link for the manual:

We have just bought a house in Canberra with a Honeywell Thermostat to operate gas central heating system. There is no manual and we do not know how to programme it. I would guess that it is about 10 years...

I have put many of those in and yes, they are hard to program compared to the new ones. You will probably not find any instructions unless you go on line to honeywell and ask. Otherwise it may be worth your time and less head ache to just go get a new thermostat even the ones at Home Depot are a lot easier.

St6400c thermostat wont run the central heating independantly

This does not sound like a thermostat problem. I would be looking for a zone valve or circulator pump problem.

Red LED on honeywell r6660d

The problem is that the 2 units are "not speaking to each other". this could be caused by low batteries or a loss in signal caused by a powercut or an objection in the way of the 2 units.

first you need to turn the power off to the r666od (or otherwise known as the HC60NG) for 10 secs, then turn back on. then hold the grey button in for 15 secs. release then hold in for a further 5 secs.

go to the honeywell cm61 press the off button. hold temp up. temp down and prog 1 in for 3 secs until the dipslay goes to INST. at this point release all 3 buttons then press the i button until a beacon starts flashing.

this is now the end to your problem.

N.B the reason the green light was on is because the man override button will have been pressed.

hope this helps

Radiators cold when thermo says otherwise !

First, check to see if the battery in the stat is good. If you can move the manual temp up and down...causing the relay to click on and off, the unit ought to work. If not the battery is bad or the stat is. IF THE UNIT IS ON 110V, you can't do the following:

If this is a two wire connection, simply short them out. If the heat comes on, the stat is bad. If not, the relay package is likely defective. You may want to get help from someone who knows electrical items.

Honeywell RTH230B

Jumper RH to RC and Y to W (Just like the old thermostat) and hook the cable wires as you have indicated with the exception of the blue wire - clip it back - it is not needed. This is a heat pump system so heating and cooling are done by the same unit. RH stands for Red Heat, RC for Red Cool, the W and Y are the neutral sides to the heat and cool control circuit. That should get you going good enough to start learning the intricacies of programming the box.

How to operate??

There should be both red and blue tabs. You push them into slots on the large dial to start and stop the heating or cooling. You can find a manual for a similar model, such as T8090 on several websites. One is GoGeisel.com.
