Rear projection tv picture distorted

MMM OK have you checked out the right hand side input that is on the edge of the screen facia ..open the flap door and in the top you will see a verry verry tiny black button situated above the inputs....it says smart focus have you tryed that ?? and iv noticed that with some rear projections customers have these huge theater suround speakers near them that puts them right out just like a crt dose with magnatism and if this dosnt work its because the convergency ic`s have been over exposed to high mangnetism

The STK convergency ICs seems to be the problem with this TV.

I have the problem with my 61" Sony. Is there a way to deguass this problem? I read on another site that you could take a magnet and start in the middle of the screen and spiral outwards and that this would solve it. I haven't gotten the guts up to try this. What do you think of this method?
