Regarding your HP Officjet Pro 8600 printer and refilled HP 950/951 ink cartridges and the "low ink" messages. Depending on your ink refiller (or if you did it yourself?), a replacement chip may or may not have been installed with the recently refilled cartridge(s). Refer to picture on our support site to first determine which type of cartridge configuration you have, then refer to the applicable section to address the current cartridge error(s) or printer issues. http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=1999
NOTE: Costco USA's Ink Refill service now 'chips' all refilled ink cartridges which fully restores all functions to that of a regular HP (OEM) ink cartridge and customer experience. For USA ink refill store locations and details on ink refill pricing:
Refer to Section A if your refiller attached a new replacement chip (green in color) onto the cartridge. Refer to Section B if only the original HP chip is attached.
CAUTION: Be advised, the use of compatible/clone cartridges (i.e. sold thru the internet from China) are known to be problematic and may cause printer errors and/or permanent PRINTHEAD failures (due to incompatible ink formulations). We do NOT suggest refilling these types of ink cartridges.....refilling of original/genuine ink cartridges is only suggested! HP original/genuine ink cartridges can be identified by the visible HP logo on the front label of the cartridge.
the most important is to remove all the air from the cartridge that has left inside durring refilling that is why professionals are using special machines that refill in 0 air πρεσυρε using vaccum pump
you can check here a video on how to refill with out any special equipment
There are catridge refill kits available for Canon catridges. Be sure to make sure that the kit will refill the cartridges for your model. Here is a link to a refill kit available on Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/Cartridge-Refill-CLI-8B-CLI-8M-CLI-8Y/dp/B00246MOHK
I do not recommend home refill kits, there is much more involved in making refills work than just injecting more ink into the cartridge. I recommend Cartridge World for ink refills because they make sure you get the manufacturer specified amount of ink and make sure that the cartridges print before selling them to you. You can get cartridges for 20-35% off the cost of original HP brand.
