I'm having problems with a Mustek ScanExpress A3 USB Scanner. It seems to be working fine but it doesn't seem to want to communicate with Photoshop Elements although it worked before and does work with MS Office Word. Help!

Try setting the image quality to a lower DPI setting. I used one on my Amiga A1200, but using SCSI, and even that scanned in less time than that at 600dpi.It could be the image processing software that is causing the problem.
Hi, I found some scanners for you listed below but, You can also scan large pictures in sections, and then use a program like STITCHES. Basically you scan it in quarter sections and then create a working board in your photo program and then you copy and paste each section into that board and line up the edges. This is what most people do rather than buy a very expensive large format scanner.
Some large companies also have large scanners for maps etc. If you know someone who works for a very large company or one that does surveying etc. They may do this favor for you. Though copy stores may have the size you need, copywrite issues will be asked about.

it could be because you have far too many usb connected devices sucking the power from your system try removing a few usb connect devices and try again or buy a bigger power supply unit i reccommend at least 650 - 700 watt
