Battery indicator reads empty when batteries are fully charged

It looks like your question was cut short... all I see is "Battery indicator reads empty when batteries are..."

With my experience with the Pentax *ist DL, I think the problem is probably that brand new batteries still show "empty" on the indicator.

Chances are that you are not using the CR-V3 camera batteries in your *ist DL. I have tried 2400mAh NiMH rechargable batteries and brand new alkaline batteries in an attempt to save money.

Neither lasted anywhere near as long as the CR-V3 batteries! While you may be paying $15-$20 for two CR-V3 batteries, they last a LONG time!

One of the advantages of DSLRs (and digital cameras in general) is that you save money by no longer buying film and paying for developing/prints. But, even at $20 for two CR-V3 batteries, I save money! I am able to take several hundred photos on a pair of batteries (I think the manual says 500+) instead of $10-$15 ($2-$7 for film + $8 dev/print) for every 24-36 photos!

N81 won't charge!

Hi gingermark,

I had exactly the same problem with you. What I did to my phone was, I took the battery off the phone for a minute. Then put your battery back and quickly plug your charger jack into your N81. if your phone start to charge then that's mean it starts to feeding the battery up.

But, after that my phone always find itself under charging condition even with the charger jack unplugged. What a frustrating thing, I am trying to flash it to newer version firmware. Will see what is gonna happen. Will get back to you when I get the answer.

I personally think if the charging component inside the fone has got dirt on it. "maybe" it made short-circuit or some sort of thing.

Will try to open up the fone and do some cleaning if upgrading firmware doesnt give any clues.

Cheers mate :)

Bluetooth Problem???

ok here's what you gotta do, this may solve u'r problem, go to menu, settings, initial set up, master clear Code ( 000000 )w8. phone boots, then go again to menu, settings, initial set up, master reset, Code ( 000000 ) then the phone will boot...and your fones restored to it's original settings, but the problem you had with this heating up thing, cant resolve, your phone is grounded, or your batt is no good... if you have multi tester put the pins on both side put to 0 value, in the battery terminal. then switch it both terminals again on both outer side of terminals , and if both after swicthing, cursor moves u'r fone is grounded, go to service center and they will replace yoour p.a. ( power ampli ) gud luck!
