Dell D830 laptop keyboard suddenly not working.

Dell D830 laptop had malware issues last week which have been fixed. However, the laptop keyboard is not working when tying Word docs or emails in Outlook. Is this from the malware? Any resolutions?

It may be that the keyboard language is incorrect.

The Keyboard Language may have been reset back to the default when the Malware was removed.

You will need to check what the default is (and if not correct, change it back). If this doesn't solve the problem, then this is one less thing to do.

I hope this helps. Please rate. Regards,

Do you see/feel any condensation or any dust particals? The key may have either under it. Pop off and clean under and pop on again. Refer to http://www.wikihow.com/Pop-a-Key-Back-Onto-a-Dell-Laptop-Keyboard to do this correctly. If not fixed the keyboard may need replaced. Call Dell if under warranty.

Latitude D830 starts then shuts down quickly.

1. Make sure you are plugged into A/C.. Your battery could be running low.
2. Make sure there is nothing blocking the heat vents. This symptom is typical for overheating processors.

Hello,
Please go to safe mode using administrator account and check whether it is entering or not? the 9 light shows the num lock is on and it could be turned off by pressing num lock or Fn num lock combo. This will also ensure (if num lock is working) that the issue is woth software.

Possible water or hard drive damage to Dell Inspiron 1000 Laptop

its fryed the GPU, sorry it won't work anymore, unless a miracle happens. If it was off and you left it off until it completely dried out (6-7 days) it would of still worked.

I have the same problem D830

Seems to me if it ran normally until powered down that the motherboard would have to be functioning, no? It's a boot or startup problem, but there are all kinds of hardware and software issues that could cause that. Have you tried booting into safe mode or last known good configuration by pressing F8 as it boots up?
Try going to Dell support and enter your service tag # and see if there are any service bulletins or advisories for your laptop, then maybe search the Dell forums for reports of the same. If the motherboard was an issue on your model, you'll find some forum posts about it.
See also Dell support for your boot problem here.
If you get it booted up again, you might like to take a look at the event viewer and device manager and see if there are errors or warnings posted that indicate software or hardware problems on your system. Also consider running the Dell diagnostics utility (see here) to check the system health. And run chkdsk to scan the hard drive for corruption. (instructions here and here)
Malware removal protocols I'd recommend as a check here.
Good general troubleshooting for windows here and startup here.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

I have a laptop dell latitude d830, and the computer works fine but the screen after couples minutes turn black, everythings else keep working, you have to look pretty close to see the words. Somebody...

You should reconfigure the energy saving options in DISPLAY and lengthen the On time from a few minutes to the length of time you wish. This is not a hardware but a Software Issue, but I don\'t know what Operating System you are using for more specific information. Supply that or reconfigure your system to your satisfaction and rate, or get back to me so I can further assist and then rate.
