    Hi,

I have a ASUS P5RD1-VM motherboard with a nVidia GeForce 7300LE graphics card. I had recently upgraded my memory from 512 MB to 1 GB. On installing the 1 GB stick, the total system memory would show up as 504 MB. In addition to this, I am even experiencing problems with my display. The image is distorted (vertical lines), and hence I am forced to remove my PCI-E graphics card, and use the onboard graphics card.

Hi shuter. Your Asus P5RD1-VM has an integrated video adapter ATI® Radeon 9600 GPU. You need to enter your bios & change the video start up order. Pg.2-22 in your manual.
Configuration options: [IGD] [PEG/IGD] [PCI/IGD]
Boot Graphics Adapter Priority [PEG/IGD]
Save & exit. Check system at boot up for correct memory count.

Thanks for using FixYa & if you need more help just re-post here. Have a good one!

I updated my BIOS to 1104 and set the chipset graphics to PEG/IGD (or whatever the non PCI one was and not just IGD). I also set the shared ram in the chipset setting to 64 MB but I don't think that had anything to do with it. Anyway, I am able to get my full 2GB of ram while using the PCI-E card (ATI).
