Question about Yamaha Audio & Video Receivers

1 Answer

Yamaha DSP-A2070 I have a Yamaha DSP-A2070 receiver, with pre-amp/amp communication problems. knobs under the front door (bass, treble, balance) don't work. DSP effects must be on for any sound to work...can't just play in stereo. If I push the "effects" button to turn effects off, there's no sound at all. Also, the remote tended to learn the functions of my cheap sanyo dvd/cd player, and whenever i push a button on the remote, it'll restart the song or skip to the next one...which seems really weird. Anyone able to help me on this one? Perhaps it's a simple setting.

Check the 'front mix' switch on the back, set it in off; main level on max.

How do I adjust the treble and bass on sony str-dh520?

See EQ Mode on page 59 of the owners manual to set the bass and treble for the front speakers, presumably for 2 channel mode. For multi-channel mode there are several pre-programmed audio modes listed starting on page 43 and music mode starting on page 44.

Power on ok problem no sound !all transitor ok

Check this out. It is the most common problem I have found with these units. Along the lower left of the front panel the controls go from left to right Bass, Treble, Balance. Then Speaker A button and Speaker B button. Sometimes the speaker buttons get "unpressed". No joke, Check them out first.
If not. Then look for a short (even a frayed single conductor) in the speaker wires. On this model, it will shut down the output completely.
Hope this helps,
Best,

Can you help me connect my Yamaha hi-fi system? I want to connect my Yamaha ampliier DSP A1 to my Yamaha equalizer 630 but I don't how to.

Your EQ will be connected to the amp via one of the Tape loops. Connect rec out from the EQ to play in on the A1 Tape input, and rec out from the A1 to play in on the EQ. Then select Tape Monitor on the A1 to hear sound with the EQ settings applied. It won't affect the surround channels, only the main ones. You can also connect the EQ across the pre out and main in sockets for the front channel on the A1

How do I use the remote to cont bass & treble for rxv-657 reeiver

No, Tone controls are on the front of the unit only. If your passing video thru the unit you can go into the setup menu from the harmony and adjust all the sound parameters that way "on screen" The only "EQ" capabilities are for the Center channel only. You can adjust "speaker size". "Large" setting will give you a little lower response. "Small" will crossover the speaker at "100hz" That's about as far as tone adjustment goes on this unit. Hope this helps

I want to get the metallica sound from my marshall AVT50

Use the high gain channel. Set the bass to 8-10 set set the mids to 6-7 and the treble to taaste to cut through. Also turn the contour all the way up. To gice that scooped mid sound. Or use the celan channel on the amp and run a boss metal zone pedal through it. Set amps clean channel EQ to flat ( at 5) and the metal zones controls. Treble to taste for a good bite, bass up to the point were it wont fart out on your amp, sweep the mids outer knob set about 5-7 and the inner knob to about 4. Set prescence for clearity and the distortion level as high as you can stand it.
