I have put 40 litres of petrol in 2.5tdi VW Tourage engine.

4.7 litres of 0-30 0w-40 or 5w-30 longlife oil

I wouldn't suggest it. It wouldn't be just an engine swap that you unplug and unbolt and and then reverse...thats not to say it can't be done with a lot of thinking and work and reprogramming that's usually for vw experts...your better off to keep looking at other wreckers for the exact motor

5. SAE 5W-30 / 5W-40, VW 501.01 - bellow +15 Celsius degrees.
6. SAE 10W-30 / 10W-40, VW 501.01 - bellow +15 Celsius degrees.

Assuming you are asking are all Petrol tanks same size on VW Golfs... if thats the question then the answer is YES..The engine size does not affect the Petrol tank size only consumption (kilometers per litre/ or miles per gallon depending your location...assumed since you called it Petrol you are European) The different YEAR models would have different capacities and or shapes depending on configuration of the vehicle.. but the Golfs didnt go under much design change from 99-2002 so you should be safe if looking for a replacement.

there most likely isn't enough fuel for the pump to pick up. Once a fuel tank runs dry it takes more fuel than usual to get the pump to send the fuel to the engine. Try a little more fuel, and if that doesn't work, let me know :D

Is it a 1995 or a 1996, it can't be both.

that's...thirty liters or so?...10.4 liters per hundred. I'm getting 30 UK MPG...that sounds rather low for a 1.2 . it should be getting 35-40, I believe. better get yourself a tuneup if you can afford it.

Hi . The fuel filters are fitted (For life if petrol) and every 40,000 miles for diesels . But if needed the petrol ones are under the right hand side rear near the fuel tank and have quick release couplings on them . and the Diesels are in the engine bay either side depending on engine type and confuration .
