Question about Nintendo DS Console

1 Answer

Screen washout While playing a game om my ds fat the screens suddenly washed out very bright with lots of lines up and down the screen. As far as I know it has never been dropped or anything like that. The Screens are just viewable enough to seen but non-playable. I am not sure if maybe the ribbon cable th the mainboard is faulty or if the video chip on the board has failed. Any Ideas? Thanks.

If both went at the exact same time, each has it's own connection with a different ribbon cable in a different area, it would tend to imply that the ribbon cables and screens are both working fine and that the problem is elsewhere.

My DS lite top screen has red hues, and pretty much everything on the top screen is redish. It doesn't affect play at all, but it's REALLY annoying.

Hold select, then turn the volume up by one and down by one, That should reset the brightness settings to normal but without red things, if not it is a different problem and you should contact nintendo

My DS screen has gone very dim, difficult to play games on as its not very bright. Any ideas how to fix it?

Remove gamecard.
Turn it on and tap the screen.
On the main screen, in the left down corner you will see a sun icon. Taop on it with your stylus to make your screen brighter

Nintendo DS lite power light comes on but both screens stay dark?

When you boot the Nintendo DS you can change the illumination settings in the main menu.
One the main menu, you will find a sunny symbol in the lower left corner of the screen. Click on that and you should be able to change the level of illumination. If you are also wondering if you can change the brightness during game play, you can't. Games such as Mario 64 DS come with support for brightness change but otherwise you have to do it before game play.

Nintendo DS lite - dropped

Might be worth taking it into a phone repair shop to see if they can replace the LCD screen. (yes, a phone repair shop - a lot of them do portable console screens too!) If they can't do it, it's probably unfixable realistically.

Fat 32 error

If its possible can you get a new multi game card? If not if the warranty is still good take it back for a new ds, or you could always send it in but it takes 2-3 weeks for repairs.
