Question about HP LaserJet 4100n Printer

My printer will not print

When I try to print frm my e mail the printer won't print. I have checked all the connections and the power is on but the printr won't print. I have a HP a6230n desk top.

Printer won't print. I had to move the desk and everything was unplugged and now it won't print. It is on, checked as default, on-line, I think it may be the port.


  1. Background
    • HP provides details of the problem on its website. The problem usually occur on PC laptops or when printing across a network. HP offers several fixes for the problem.
    Software
    • First, check your Windows print queue and ensure the printer is not set as "Paused" or "Working Offline." This can often clear the problem and resume your printing.

    Resolution
    • The problem can also be caused by printer driver issues. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer driver. Connecting your printer directly to your computer using a parallel cable may solve the problem, but this may not be practical in all cases as many modern laptop computers do not have a parallel port.
Instructions
    • 1 "Power Cycle" Your printer. Shut down the printer, unplug the power cord from the socket, give it 5 minutes, plug it in again and turn it back on. Try to print.
    • 2 If the printer still won't process a job, shut down and restart your computer.
    • 3 Check your printer cable connections to the computer.
    • 4 Check the printer for any paper jams, check the trays, and also pull out the toner cartridge and/or remove any paper jam, if you find one. Put the cartridge back in. Then try to print.
    • 5 If after completing the steps above, the printer is still not working, click "Start," then "Settings," click "Printers," and the printer folder will open. Make sure your HP LaserJet 5 is selected as the default printer.
    • 6 Double-click your printer, and delete everything from the print queue, canceling all the print jobs. Close out the queue.
    • 7 Right-click on your printer icon and make sure it's not offline. If it is, then click "use this printer online."
    • 8 Right-click your printer, and click properties. Make sure the right port is selected for your LaserJet 5 Printer. If you are using a parallel cable, you are most likely using an LPT port; if USB, then look for a USB connection in the list. If the port connection is correct, try to print again.
    • 9 It's still not printing? Click "Start," then "Control Panel." Double-click "Programs and Features" or "add or remove programs," uninstall your Laserjet printer software, and restart your computer.
    • 10 Insert your Laserjet software and driver disk. Proceed to reinstall your printer software and drivers. Then test the printer again. If it is still not working, you probably will have to seek professional assistance.

Windows Live Mail won't print on Windows 7 64bit


Hi,

Try to check if your printer is set to Default.

Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers> Under Printers and Faxes, locate your Printer name then Right click> Set as default printer.

Then try to print again.

Won;t print keeps saying offline


Hi
Try disconnecting the printer completely from power and from the PC.
Reboot the PC.
Connect everything again.
Clear any print queues.
Check for paper jams on the printer.
Now try printing.

How do i get my Lexmark X2350 Printer to send e-mail? I scan my documents, but the new e-mail box does not appear after the scan like its suppose to.


Make sure that your default email program is correctly set on your computer.
A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.).

If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

  1. Disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer from your computer.
  2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
  3. Delete the Lexmark print object.
  4. Reboot computer.
  5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box where the power cord is plugged into on the back of the printer, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to the computer.
  7. Wait until your computer fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, try to scan a document to verify that the problem is fixed.

Why won't my printer print after I installed the software? It says its ready but nothing will print

Power is connected and printer is on; printer cables to pc is connected however this message keeps coming up to check them....and the print wont print....what can I do?


It could be a driver problem where the computer system won't able to detect the hardware completely. Try installing the driver of your printer and try using other ports if it is a USB one.

My 8050 is printing symbols and jargon instead of text. Help


ok disconnect ur printer frm ur computer and turn it OFF for 5 min,after 5 min turn ON it again n dont connect it to the computer.it will not print those symbols

now on ur computer check that is there any pending printing or last time u used da computer to print and its left on pending.ckeck it on where the clocks is shown on taskbar.if yes so cancel all the pending printing and then connect ur printer back to computer.then u shall not face the problem.

Prints nonsense instead of print job


turn off ur printer disconnect it frm computer and check ur computer where there is pending printin left by you,if yes cancel all the pending printing and connect ur printer back to computer and turn it ON,u shall not face the problem.

Printer


Try to recheck printers connection if it is lose or not. You can also try to recalibrate the printer via the software which came with the printer. This should most probably solve your problem. i think the detection problem normal comes when either printer is not connected well or if the driver got corrupted. You can also try reinstalling the printer.

check on adobe website for forums regarding the problem, try printing frm other application as well. if its not printing from aperture only then there is a problem on the program.
