My son touched the lens and now it is cloudy. I tried cleaning it and it's a bit better, but too cloudy to take a pic. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately your lens might be damaged. There are some micro apperatus holding the lens. Generally these lens parts can easily be damaged. Small wheels and their homes might be damaged. It is possible to repair but worth much than the whole camera. This is a user mistake. So garantee will not work. In such circumstances manufacturers do not accept to change the camera.

How are you cleaning it? You should only use photo lens tissue and photo lens cleaning fluid. Or better still, use a micro Lenspen. Can be purchased on the internet at sites like

My pic isnt to clear is there any way i can solve this i already took out the lamp and lens and dust them off. You see its like cloudy.

Dusting off may not be enough to clean the lens.
  • Use a Lens Cleaning Cloth and Lens Cleaning Liquid. There are Cleaning Kits readily available for purchase at your local photo retailer.
  • Or take the camera to a Pro Shop.
Good Luck,

How to protect ur Digi cam?????

If u have Digital Cam and you want to protect then don't touch the cam lans because if u touch it and try to clean them u scratch the cam lens cover..after do this the pic who u capture is not so good and the life of the Digital cam is too low b careful about your cam lens and cover it very carefully...if u want to clean your cam lens then u use a cotton..because cotton is less harmful for cam lens as compare to another source ..Thanks..

I have a Kodak Ektanar 4 to 6 inch zoom lens and when you look through the lens from the front the inner lens looks cloudy. Is this normal, and if not, can the lens be taken apart and cleaned?

I would not expect a lens to be cloudy. Most lenses can be cleaned internally, but it's not a job to try yourself. You really need a full "optical bench" as well as tools for disassembly, cleaning, alignment, etc.

My camera used to take very clear pics, now they are very cloudy, how do I fix?

First of all make sure the lens is clean. Wipe it with a clean dry cloth. Next restore your camera to Factory Settings. If it still not working, there might be a hardware issue.

White cloudy spots on my images - a recent problem

If these are like "bubble" spots and they appear in different places on each photo, I'm guessing you're shooting flash pictures indoors. The spots are dust particles in the air reflecting the flash. This happens on small point-and -shoots because the flash is almost in the same plane as the lens.

My son's camera won't read any disk. It just says "no disk". What might be the cause?

The problem is the Laser lens. The lens is dirty or defectives, and cannot focus anymore on the laser beam reflected by the DVD, to read or record the disk.

You can try using a DVD cleaner disk to clean lens. If that does not work, then the lens pickup must be replaced by a technician.

Trying to clean the lens with a Qtip and isopropyl alcohol may also help, but it may also damage the lens furtherly. If cleaner disk does not work, better calling support.

Cloudy Lense and Unfocused Pictures

There may have been some condensation inside the camera if it was dumped in a front yard. That could account for the cloudy appearance. We could try to reset the camera and see if that helps. Turn the camera on and press menu. Go to setup and then down to reset. Go right and highlight ok and then press select. Now try it and see it that's better. If not you may have to have someone clean the inside of the lens.

Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 IS lens not focusing

I have had to replace the focusing servo motor is these before. The problem of seeking without locking in may mean the same for your lens. Do check for a dirty filter on the front and look to see if the rear optic is dirty or cloudy first. I'm assuming other lenses work fine on your camera.

Black particles on focusingscreen

If the specks are just on your viewfinder focussing screen, they won't be on your pics. If they're on both your pics and focussing screen, you need to find someone else to clean your camera. Cleaning either your CCD sensor or your screen yourself can leave scratches. Changing lenses often can suck dust into the inside if the body is dusty. Try another repair shop for thorough cleaning - it shouldn't cost more than $50.
