We just got the model PHS patio heater. We light the pilot light, but as soon as we release the control knob, the pilot goes out and the main heater does not light. We have tried multiple times, but cannot seem to get the main heater to light.
-   can you provide a link to where we can purchase a new thermocouple? -   JTSky

-   I have the PHS model and I can get the pilot to light, hold it in for minutes, but as soon as I release the pilot the flame goes out. I've been told to replace the thermo coupler and or to use canned air blow out the gas line. I can't seem to access the thermo coupler without taking the entire heater assembly apart. When I tried to take it aprt I unscrew it and the nuts fell into the unit and now I can't retrieve them. -   2westie

-   Same problem. I assume it is the thermocouple, but parts list is not included in manual, and no one returns phone calls/emails from Windchaser - HELP

You have to hold the button down for 30 seconds at least before turning the knob to ON. If you are doing this and it still goes out after you let up on the knob, then it needs a new flame sensor, or thermocouple. Same thing different names.

We have not been able to use our outdoor heater for a couple of years. I took the cover off and cleaned with a pipe cleaner. My husband thinks I need a new thermocoupler, but I can't find one the right size. Can I order one, or can I use one that is too long from our local hardward store? Please advise. Thanks.
