Okay this is what I found out. Thanks for one word tard "problem". Very helpful. No actually a waste of 1.5 sec of my time to find out what this is. Okay anyways I found out that it is bad. .SCR is a script file which makes a variety of registry changes "hinhem" and etc etc blah blah virus writeup bs always the same M.O. . Also this script has been known to take over yahoo messenger and IM itself to everyone on the users buddy list. Wack! Okay so let me find remedy. Looks like this particular script is just a part of what is dropped by at leaset one internet worm. (W32.Blastclan.B) So to make this as painfree as possible the removal of this and most likely the rest of the payload that was dropped on your system goto here http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2007-091311-1856-99&tabid=3

Lol I should do this for a living.

I set my admin account to limited user and i cant open it anymore..please help to retrieve this user account.thank you..

i assume you are using Windows XP.
try log off and login as "Administrator", if you remember the password. Try blank password first. if it doesn't show in the list, press Ctrl-Alt-Del twice and type it in.
if no joy, you can download this iso, burn it onto CDR as disk image, not data.
restart and boot from this CD, then you have the chance to change/reset/blank any user's password. but take care not to do other thing. follow the author's instructions.
good luck!

Please Restart your computer and get to 'safemode'.you can do this by pressing F8 before your window starts up then selecting safe mode from the options available. When u get into the safe mode, there will be a pop up menu asking u something, click 'no' button and then click 'restore my computer to a previous state'.you will be shown a calender, you should click the date before your friend gave you the virus, and then start the system restore.after sometime your computer will restart and everything will be all right.

Virus infecting microsoft programs

Its the W32/Rungbu-A virus, it infects Microsoft Word DOC files by copying itself to the same filename but with an .SCR extension, appending the DOC file to the SCR copy, and then hiding the original DOC file.

The W32/Rungbu-A then sets the computer not to show hidden files (in order to hide the DOC file), to give SCR files a Word icon (so the SCR file looks like a Word file), and to hide file extensions (so the SCR file just displays the filename, not the SCR extension). When the SCR file is run, the Word document is displayed as normal.

To recover your .DOC files just follow these steps:

You have to delete all files detected as W32/Rungbu-A.

Set the following registry entries in order to show extensions and hidden files:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
HideFileExt
0

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\HideFileExt
UncheckedValue
0

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
ShowSuperHidden
1

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\SuperHidden
UncheckedValue
1

You must change the attributes of the original .DOC files to stop them being hidden.

My answer to your second question, is in November of 2007 the .SCR file extension started to be used to transmit a Trojan. As a script or a screen saver this file can execute other files which carry the Trojan. The SCR file may be embedded within a ZIP file which could also contain a file with a double extension. Many Windows screen savers come with a .SCR extension by default. Usually these will be found in the Windows main directory. Use caution if you receive a screen saver file via E-mail. These files can contain executable code and can be worms or viruses. Note: This file type can become infected and should be carefully scanned if someone sends you a file with this extension.
