Camera to computer connection issues

Windows XP won't recognize the Vivitar Vivicam 8320 when plugged in. I reloaded the drivers just in case and the computer still doesn't recognize that it is a camera.

Yes I have what I think is the same problem.

When I substitute another SD card, the problem goes away. So I think the issue is a format problem on the SD card. I have tried copying the "read" program from the good SD card to the "not good" SD card; but so far I still can't "see" the NG card.

I have also tried using the PC with Windows XP to format the NG disk. But it did nothing until now.

That's when I started searching for Vivitar or other company formatting program for this DS disk.

Help me if anyone reading this knows the problem....

Try to stay away from using the camera to read the card I know it sound a bit extreme, but a small card reader would help a long way, take away wear and tear of the camera, one less task for it to do.

just use the camera to take picture and then use the card reader to download the pictures.

SD card do go bad, alot of time, be careful how you treat them.

if you cherish the contents, treat them with respect

I need a driver for a vivitar vivicam model 3765 digital camera. It worked with with windows XP but not on windows 7

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

You don't need the Vivitar software.

I've lost my charger. can i charge it directly

My Vivitar Vivicam 8320 uses a 5.0V 1.5A DC output transformer that plugs either into the little square charger for the lithium battery or plugs directly into the camera itself.
