there will be a button pause/start.....
if the printer is left in the pause it wont feed the paper at all....

sometimes the print heads will become blocked. Take the catridges out
and put a piece of toilet paper across the head and see if ink bleeds
through. if not try moistening some kitchen paper and gently cleaning
    the heads.

    FOR SCANNING

There should be an icon in the system tray (bottom right corner of your
screen). It is white with different color blocks on it. If you hold
your mouse pointer over it it says something like "Lexmark Imaging
Studio". Right click on it and choose "Lexmark 1200 Series All-In-One
Center". This will start the scanning application.

    last step

    1. if you enter the "printer and faxes" can you see your model printer there?
    2. if you can see the printer there is it the default printer?
    3. if all the above is yes, try to check to what port the printer is connected.
    4.
if all doesn't work try to reinstall the driver do it while the printer
is not connected to the pc, and after u reinstall the driver connect
the printer to the pc. see if this work for you.

Lexmark X73 Printing Problem

When you say that your all-in-one system will copy, but will not print from the computer, this tells me that there could be a connection problem between the printer and the computer. This is more then likely a driver problem. you will need to go to lexmark and download the latest drivers for your operating system.
But this could also be a broken or loose cable.

Until a few days ago my Model X3550 operated perfectly, now the unit will not respond to print command, although it will still copy and scan and perform all other functions. Simply will not print, get...

unplug printer. uninstall the printer drivers. restart computer. when desktop comes up, plug in USB for printer. Windows should recognize the printer. If not, try a different USB cable.

When you got this message were you trying to scan?

What I want you to do is a copy. Doing a copy will generally not require you to be hooked to the PC.

Scanning and Printing all require communication from the printer to the computer. Failure in communication can either be something on the computer, something wrong with the cable or rarely something wrong with the printer.

I'm assuming you have done the following:

1. Power off your printer and your computer.
2. Unplugged the power from the printer
3. Unplugged the USB cable from both the printer and the computer.
4. Reconnect the USB cable to the printer and the computer.
5. Plug the power back into the printer and make sure the printer is on.
6. Turn on the computer.

Those are general troubleshooting steps that can be done for any communication problem.

If you have done all of those try this:

Press and hold down the Windows key on the keyboard, and then type the letter R.
Type "devmgmt.msc" and then click OK on the Run dialog.
Find the item Universal Serial Bus controller.
Click the + sign next to the word Universal Serial Bus controller.
Do you see USB Printing Support?
Yes:
Right-click on USB Printing Support, and then click Properties.
Does the Device status say “This device is working properly.”?
Yes:
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software?
No:
Click the Troubleshoot button to try to resolve the problem.
Does the Device status now say “This device is working properly.”?
Yes:
Try your print again (might need to restart)
No:
Might have a problem with your Printing Support

No:
Might have a problem with your Printing Support

Let me know - if you have a problem with your printing support you'd really need to contact your PC MFG for help - but you can always try uninstalling the USB Printing Support and reinstalling it (only if you have your disks that came with your printer).

Cannot access scan function

Hi , did you try a manual copy thru the printer operator panel to make sure that there are no issues with the hardware , if it is copying manually then its an issue with the software , you need to uninstall the printer drivers through the Printer Disk ****make sure to disconnect the printer cable from the computer before uninstalling the drivers **** once the printer drivers are uninstalled restart the computer and get into the Safemode (**keep tabbing F8 when the system restarts for safemode**) and delete the following Folder " SPOOL " it is located under C:\WINDOWS\system32. after deleting the Spool folder restart the computer and install a fresh copy of drivers it will resolve your issue.
Do let me know once you perfrom these steps.
All the Best.
