Question about Cell Phones

2 Answers

My Audiovox CDM-8410 quite working over a year ago, a few weeks after I purchased a new battery for it. The screen simply went blank and I could never turn it on again. I bought a new phone, of course, but I would like to get the Audiovox repaired for my son to use. Any suggestions? Thanks so much.

    The old battery = BTR-8400 900mAh 3.7V Li-Ion.
    The new battery = NUAU8410 800mAh 3.6V Li-Ion.
If this is this problem, how do I repair the power chip? And do I have to get another battery as well?

What/where is the SIM and how do I make sure it's seated correctly?

  • hengwen Feb 29, 2008

The package label on the new battery says
"Li-Ion battery for Audiovox CDM 8400, 8410, 8450/800MAh" I bought it at a place that sells nothing but batteries and it worked fine for 4-6 weeks.
But I just put the old battery in the phone (it still had a little life in it) and it appears to be charging...I can see a very faint "charging" screen).

The operation manual for this phone might be able to give you some solutions.

I would check the part number of the new battery to make sure it is compatible with the phone. Also check to make sure that the SIM is seated correctly.

Yup, I think that's the problem.

I doubt it would have affected the circuitry of the phone, though.

Just buy the correct battery and it should be fine. Get another BTR-8400, either from an Audiovox authorized dealer or from a reputable online reseller.

That battery is a "compatible" battery made to match the phone's specifications at a cheaper price. Sometimes those, work, but sometimes (like this time) they don't.

The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) battery is so cheap in this case that I would just buy another of the "real" batteries (the BTR-8400), which we know works correctly.

Now that I look more closely at the battery link I posted earlier, I noticed that it is a "compatible" battery as well. See how it is rated at only 850mAh, not 900mAh?

Like I said, these cheaper compatible batteries usually work fine, but some phones are very sensitive.

Here is an original OEM battery, (part # BTR-8400, not "compatible with BTR-8400) and for pretty much the same price as the cheaper "compatibles. I would get it, either here or from another reputable reseller, and it should make the phone work good as new.

i think the battery is only the problem.....
if the required voltage of 3.7v is not available it wont turn own.....
take your mobile to the shop any ask the shop keeper to provide the same old battery and try it testing there itself...
