You most probably have broken your screen.Plug in a monitor, and it should work.P.S. Don't get mad and slam any more lids. They are fragile. Sorry.

Dell Latitude D520 Laptop Win XP Pro SP3, continues to reboot. I've tried all the safe modes, last known config, everything. I do not have a disk as I bought the laptop used. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

if cannot boot into the system, a factory restore may be needed. This will restore your computer to an "out of the box" setting and erase all your data.

if you cannot even get into safe mode, recovering any data you might want can be difficult. Booting your system with a LIVE cd like HIren's boot cd, or a LINUX cd may work and allow you to backup your files, but I cannot guarantee this.

(since you mention this is a used laptop, it will be hard to tell if the restore partition is still on the hard drive)

After you have tried the backup options outlined above, restart your computer. Hold down the Ctrl and tap on F11. If the System recovery partition is still intact, your computer should start reloading windows again.

Be sure to do your windows updates and have a valid antivirus ready too!

I've got a Dell Latitude D520 which is failing to boot

If it's not even posting then this is more than likely a mobo issue. Had the same problem with one and a motherboard replacement fixed it.

How to Get a good Dell Latitude D520 Laptop

it sounds like you did the right thing, i would search google for "Dell D520 keyboard", you should find many places at different prices, if you havent bought from the site before, try reading some customer feedback, and also, the cheapest may not be the best, look for a good return policy and or warranty for the item. if this helps pleas give a fixya rating thanks
