Kenmore 800 series washer not draining; stops at that cycle; have to manually turn dial to spin/drain cycle to get it to finish; Need to trouble shoot n fix. Help?

After you advance the knob, you are saying that it will finish the rest of the cycle? If that is the case, more than likely, you will need a new timer for your washer. Hope this helps!

Kenmore Elite three-speed model 23014100 cycle control knob does not engage. How do you remove the knob?

First, see the Sears parts list for your washer:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=110.23014100&pathTaken=partSearch

Then see the following for how to access the console:

http://www.american-appliance.com/catalog/newsdesk_info.php?newsPath=16&newsdesk_id=131&osCsid=b73e90a0c05767e7bc74d80a72133966

Then see the Whirlpool / Kenmore Service Manual for these washers:

https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/2550f737b3129b0c85256b0600504738/$FILE/787772%20%234.pdf

Beginning on page 20, you'll see that there are two types of timers and two ways to remove the knob.

Ours is a metal version and we found that you have to hold the back part of the metal shaft with a thin needle nose pliers in order to unscrew the knob.

Kenmore 300 washing machine does not leave rinse cycle

This sounds like a bad timer. If the machine is several years old, the timer could be in need of replacement.

If you are handy, you can replace this device yourself and you should be able to obtain the part from any local Sears parts store or from the internet.

If you are not familiar with this kind of work, it would be best to have a technician replace the timer.

Changing the spin dial

I was just trying the same thing. I have a kenmore 80 series that wont even start to fill. i thought maybe the dial component was broke so i wanted to take it out. it was held on by a screw. I am not sure if there is a certain position the knob must be in, but mine turned counterclockwise. i have a feel for things like this so i might have done something else out of instict. but it is held on by a screw.

Kenmore Elite, Quiet Pak II Top Loading Washer

there should be 2 screw on the left and right side of the console. remove the screws and the console flips back so you can get to the timer. youll have to remove the knob and dial from timer too to get to the screws that hold the timer in place. if you dont have a local appliance parts store in your area then you can order the timer at sears.com and theyll ship it to your house
