Intermitant problem idicates eather a component finally failing maybe overheating or a bad connection somewhere. IS the unit compltely dead now... NO green light flashing. or on no sounds clicks or smells. The rca ITC222 is known for shutdown. THe processor "sees" any problem at all it will shut it down for safety. You did what u first do that is unplug it and try again. Now the troubleshooting begins. Technicians have computer test equipment that can read errors from the processor. SO what is it doing now.

55" model. Why does it play for a couple of hours, then shut down?

Sounds like you have a parental setting on the tv that is set to only allow 2 hrs then shuts down... try going into the menu and looking for parental settings or sleep settings... if that isn't it try spacing the tv away from the wall to allow circulation... it may be over heating... next would be to get a circuit checker for the wall plug and make sure the polarity is right at the power source... you would be surprised at how many homes are wired bkwards... usually sign of this problem is electronics in your home seem to burn out with in 6 months or sooner... tester has 3 to 4 lights on the bk of it and looks like a wall plug.. costs about 5 $

I need to play videos in region 4

check internet for region free codes for your model, this is usually quite easy to set your system to not have any region restriction. so you can play dvd from all regions. I found this for your model.

1. Remove disc from tray.
2. Switch off player and unplug power cord.
3. Wait 30 seconds, then reconnect power cord.
4. Turn on player with remote. Wait for player to finish loading and display 'no disc'.
5. Press enter on remote. (There will be no on-screen response.)
6. Press 8, 4, 2, 6, 9 on the remote. (There will be no on-screen response.)
7. Press enter on the remote. Player will automatically shut off.
8. Turn player on.
9. Turn off.
10. Turn player on then off again.
11. Player is now region-free.

It might work. try at your own risk.

Hello,
Dont worry, the problem is coincidental to you installing the Wii. You need a new lamp.
What you are seeing is the lamp ballast/power supply attempting to start and restart your lamp. The resistance of your lamp to it's power source has increased to the point that it is shutting down, but has not blown out yet. You can find these at justlamps.com
Good luck

Problem

Going back some time ago, I believe that in this model of set, if there is a power supply failure, the sleep timer will show as activated.

I suggest calling the JVC service rep to find out details for this. I believe the power supply will have to be changed. Also, the tech will check the set to find the cause and service it as necessary.

Turned off while watching, won't turn back on.

The TV is in "protect " mode, which means that it is shut down because of an internal fault condition. - unfortunately you need a technician to investigate the problem . THis is not a job for a hanyman. Sorry ..
