The coffee is never strong enough

I've tried several times, even using different kinds of coffee, and it just never seems strong enough.  Am i not using enough coffee/too much water?  Any one have instructions on how to use this item?

Be sure to use a very fine grind of a true Italian Roast espresso bean, and don't be afraid to tamp or pack the coffee a bit. Also, you don't want to overheat the pot...a low flame (or setting on your electric stove) will work best.

Coffee machine steam wand pressure issue

Good question. I have been surprised before today after checking the manual for various gadgets. There are thousands of manuals online which can be searched for if it is missing. We have a bench top water filter fitted. When you have one of those, the difference is so noticeable that you will only want drinking water from there

Should i go for an Espresso machine or coffee maker?

I can't really start my day without my espresso, so I'd say go with the espresso machine! I need my strong, black coffee fix every morning. But then again, it's a question of what you like. If you prefer different kinds of coffee every morning, buying a coffee maker might be the best way to go. I use the Gaggia Espresso Pure Semi-Automatic that I bought off Daily Cuppa Coffee for my espresso, in case you were wondering. They offer a wide range of both espresso machines and coffee makers; you can browse through them at www.dailycuppacoffee.com and select the one you like.

We are having a problem with our bun coffee maker. we have used several different coffee's to rule out that the problem is not the coffee. However it doesnt seem like the problem could be the coffee maker...

What brand of filter ae you using?

Some filters will filter too much and others not enough.

with 1.5 to 2 Oz of coffee in the filter, it should take 4 to 5 minutes to complete a brew of one 64Oz decanter.

Senseo machine has started producing very weak coffee

I don't know if you've tried this, but it works like gangbusters for me. I use non-senseo pods with the 2-pod holder, and they're too big for the 1-pod holder but not quite big enough for the 2-pod one.

I would frequently end up with a lousy, weak cup of coffee, and after a little investigation I deduced that water was flowing into the pod holder and AROUND the pod, without going THROUGH the pod directly. The name-brand senseo pods fit perfectly, and always produce a strong cup, even if I don't like their coffee, and it's because there's such a tight seal between where water flows in and where it flows out.

Simple solution: Put your pod in with the flat part facing up, and the bulgy part facing down. Press it down hard into the 2-cup holder. Run a little HOT tap water, and lightly wet the surface of the pod--not so much water that the pod starts floating in the holder, but enough to get it soggy. Then make your cup of coffee. The water will flow through the pod first, and kind of like siphoning gas through a hose, once it's started going through the pod it won't stop. Instant awesome cup.

Coffee not strong enough

I had a problem like this with my first proper Gaggia. Cutting a long story short I found that the coffee I was using wasn't ground finely enough. The Illy stuff that comes in cans was ok, but pretty much everything else preground (incuding Lavazza!) was too coarse.

Sidestep the problem by getting yourslef a Rancilio Rocky grinder then you can adjust the grind in TINY increments for your perfect coffee moment...

Weak Coffee

Yep, it's the one inherent flaw in the single serve machines - someone else decides what 'the perfect cup of coffee' tastes like.  Quite presumptuous, actually.
Solution I found to be acceptable:  Buy only the extra bold flavors (there's about 5 or 6 varieties) and brew using the small cup size button.  Yes, you only fill your mug about 3/4 of the way, but at least you get a decent cup of coffee.
The ONLY flavor I found to be strong enough when brewing with the large cup control button is DOUBLE BLACK DIAMOND...the rest is crap.
