DVD VHS recorder stop functioning

After 5 months of using the rca drc 8335 it has locked up and I can't start it again. Unplugged it overnight and the only thing that happens it the hello sign scans across the front. The clock comes on for only 10 seconds and fades away. Nothing works. On the tv screen the blue background comes on but no sign of a menu.
