Pink tint when usig the RGB component cable

I have a NEC VT540 projector and just recently bought a RGB to RCA cable, and hooked up my dvd player to it. Now the whole screen has this pink tint. however when I am using just the S video cable to connect to the dvd the picture is perfect. Any suggestions?

Check the green signal lead - if one of the RGB leads doesn't make good contact, the picture will take on an odd tint that doesn't always look like it's missing one of those colours. For some reason, the green is always the most common one to fail.

My Projector color is completely messed up, I have reset it and everything still looks pink.

In the image menu, make sure that your RGB/Component settings are correct. If they are incorrect this will cause a pink tint on the projector.

Why is my projector suddenly projecting pink?

Is it entirely pink or does everything have a purplish tint? Check the settings. If you are connected using component or VGA, make sure that the unit is set to RGB rather than YPrPb.

Update this with what you find.

Thanks,
Dan

Sounds like one of those problems only cureable with expert knowledge of for example Chroma feed , Lcd function , lamp luminence, not to be a killjoy but it sounds like this is one for the engineers an estimate should be free and even if you dont have it fixed you'll know whats wrong if you want to do it yourself providing you have adequate training of course ....
