You can clear the cmos by removing the lithium coin battery, and short circuit the contacts in the batter holder, then re-insert the battery. That will set the cmos settings back to factory default.

A BIOS sum check error is usually due to a near flat BIOS battery.
Replace the BIOS battery and configure the BIOS Date & Time setting etc.

Soltek sl-k8trpro939, error message BIOS not Loaded,

To clear cmos you'll need to remove the cmos battery from the motherboard for about 5-10 seconds then replace. You need your motherboard disk in order to load the bios. If you do not have this disk then you will need to go to the board manufacturer's website & download the bios. Follow the directions they have at the site to make a bootable disk & then boot from this disk. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

I am getting 1 long beep and then 6 short ones

Hi canturob,
When a system reports a check sum error the bios is telling you the information stored from the last working boot does not match the current settings stored in the bios. Please power down your MSI system, unplug the power cord. Open the case & clear the bios. Location of JBAT1 on page 3 in manual.
Clear CMOS Jumper: JBAT1 page 10 in the manual. Remove the battery/cmos. Check it's voltage with a volt meter. It should test to 3volts DC. Anything less & the battery needs to be replaced.
While in the case re-check all data cables & power cables for good connection.
The MSI board uses the Award bios. Your current beep code of 1 long & six short is not a common beep code for the Award bios. See bios beep codes here: http://www.bioscentral.com/beepcodes/awardbeep.htm

If the battery checks out ok, you may need to update the bios. Go to MSI: http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=utility&maincat_no=1&prod_no=205
To update your MSI bios (Option only if bios clear fails to resolves the check sum issue).

Good luck canturob!
Mike
