Hi there!
The magnetron has probably failed. Check the High Voltage Diode for short circuit. Replace protection fuse with same value. The Diode is standard on most microwaves. Magnetron to be replaced with the same profile and wattage. Be sure to unplug Mains before opening the unit. Good Luck, JUS004

Makes a humming noise wont heat

If its making a humming noise, that means the diode is bad and should be replaced. Once replaced the microwave will begin to heat again.

Is there any better resource for a door handle (ps2172561) for an Amana MVH230W than paying $90+shipping online? That seems outrageous for a plastic 12" handle. I guess when youc an't open your microwave...

The Amana / Whirlpool / Maytag part number is R0713642 and you can get it for far less at one of the places listed here.

Q - The microwave display counts down and the inside light is on,  but nothing is heating and the fan is not running.
A - This most commonly is a bad door switch, other possible problems are a faulty relay or solder joint on the power module, but a bad door switch is most common.
Q - My microwave is running and sounds like it is working but will not heat up anything.
A - Many thing can do this but, common things are....loose high voltage wire.....poor solder joint on board.....magnetron.....power relay.....
Q - The microwave makes a loud "hum or buzz" noise but will not heat up the food?
A - 9 times out of 10 this is usually this is a bad magnetron, the other time is sometimes a bad high voltage diode. See components section.
