How do I calibrate my concept 4 steering wheel for my play staion 2

Keith, The wheel you have has an intentional dead spot (0) in the center position. There are several ways to assign buttons, and even select a different center, but in the center position, it will always be (0) The PS2 version of this racing wheel lacks the proper calibration settings to make the (0) zone smaller like other analogue controllers. I have the same issues with the same racing wheel for the Xbox, and other after market controllers. The manufacturer does not consider analogue "sensitivity" when making a controller. That keeps costs down, and lets them produce an "Average" product, instead of a "SYSTEM STANDARD QUALITY" product. A prime example of this, is the Wheel in question. (0) is hands off of the wheel centered. +1(right) 1/8 rotation before connection for controls. Think of the wheel as a piece of pie. you only get 1/2 rotation in either direction. The concept 4 slices it into 1/8 for analogue control. A quality wheel (expensive) slices the pie into 1/16. I hope this helps. When it comes to racing wheels, it's user preference.

My Microsoft Racing Wheel keeps disconnecting

Yeah thats an old one and i had one at once but i did not have a problem with mine, it sounds like a short in the wheel or you have a power issue. Are you using the rechargeable battery pack or the wall AC power plug? you may have a bad battery pack or wall plug is what i am saying. but this is an obsolete device you may have to find one cheap and see if it does the same thing as well..

Move the racing wheel closer to the
console.
• Make sure the AC power supply is plugged
in or, if you're using batteries, that the
batteries are fresh.

• Keep the console and racing wheel at least
three feet away from large metal objects,
such as file cabinets and refrigerators.

• Metallic decorations or stickers on the
console or racing wheel can interfere
with racing wheel performance. Remove
decorations and try connecting again.

• Make sure the front of the console is
positioned in the direction of the racing
wheel and away from nearby walls.

• Cordless phones (2.4 GHz), wireless LANs,
wireless video transmitters, microwave
ovens, some mobile/cell phones, and
Bluetooth headsets can interfere with the
operation of the racing wheel. Turn these
off or unplug them and try reconnecting
them.

• If you're using batteries and nothing else
works, turn off your console, remove and
reinsert the AA batteries or Xbox 360
Rechargeable Battery Pack into the racing
wheel, and then repeat the steps given in
"Connect Your Racing Wheel."

I have the Wireless Racing Wheel with Force Feedback. We usually play Forza Motorsport 2 and everything worked fine. We recently bought Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (2010) and the pedals don't work. ...

Hello, NFS Hot pursuit 2010 on the Xbox 360 officially supports the Microsoft wheel but any Xbox 360 wheel will most likely work fine....their words. I haven't played the console version but if you say the wheel works I suggest you try remapping the pedal controls under gameplay settings if this is possible

I hope this helps, thanks for using FixYa.

My x box wheel has been stuck with no dead zone. its like the wheel is like a controller doing maximum steering input constantly. no dead zone at all. all racing games are the same. its undriveable. What...

I have the same problem also earlier this year (first half of 2011) I can't find a solution anywhere. I think it has something to do with an update or something, because the wheel feels right up to the moment the game starts. suddenly the wheel goes LEFT or RIGHT, no deadzone.

What racing wheels are compatible to the play station 3 especially for the game need for speed hot pursuit?

To list a few:

1) Thrustmaster Ferrari GT Experience
2) Intec 190817
3) MGEAR MG-983

The first one is definitely compatible with NFS games, but its very likely any PS3 wheel is.

Are you sure the game you're using the racing wheel for is compatible with it? Not all games are supported, so that could be why that message is popping up.

Install wireless racing wheel no software

This will sync up just like a regular wireless controller. I have one of these. There is a small button on the fron of the console under the memory card port. This is the sync button. Push it and the lights will go around the ring of light on the 360. now find the small button on the racing wheel and push it while the xbox is in sync mode. When the link up the 1th controller light will light up.

The wheel works great it has force feedback which means the wheel will react to road conditions. If you hit a curb in a game the wheel will **** on its own just like a real car!!

Racing wheel setup

OK, at least for my issues, after talking to MS support ...

Here was the issue with the Setup disc (Forza Demo): If it jumps into the demo ... the XBOX DOES NOT need to be updated.

As for not connecting to the XBOX (Sync'ing up the controllers) ...

You need to press the SYNC (located by the memory card slots)Button BEFORE you PRESS the SYNC button on the wheel controller. Once you do that (a step that is not clearly pointed out in the stupid an poorly written manual) all worked asa expected. A Simple hook-up procedeure that took 2 days because of a step that was not pointed out or not made obvious to the XBox Parents and non users.
