Question about Canon imageCLASS MF8180C All-In-One Laser Printer

1 Answer

Windows XP Professional

I am running this printer using my XP Professional operating system, and have constant problems with it.
I am new in this job, and was told by the person I replaced that it is a problem, and we need a new driver. Is this true? Can I get a new or updated driver so that this nightmare will go away?
Thanks.

Yes Ana, you can install Windows XP professional. SP2 will be fine too. However, it may run into issues finding the specific device-drivers your PC uses. Do you have any CDs with your device drivers, i.e. audio/video cards, printer, network cards, etc.?
You would need those before you start installing the new system.

About printer

Sounds very odd the printer would not be supported by windows XP as it is the main OS used today, go to the samsung website and search the driver download section for a XP driver, if the driver on the cd has a known issue with SP3 then they will have released a new version.

Have problem with windows Xp pro.

You can get the correct drivers from the Gateway website. Use another computer and download all the Windows XP files for that model number from the website. You need your model number of your pc. Get the files for your motherboard, video, sound card, network card, etc. save them to a usb key or a burn them to a cd. Take the usb key/cd to the other system and load the drivers.

This will get your system back up and running in now time.

I hope this helps you.
