This morning my DSL connection was working fine using a 2wire modem/wireless router. This afternoon it quit working. The internet light on the modem doesn't work. I tried resetting the modem by unplugging it for 30 seconds and by pressing the reset button. I have checked all the cables. Still, I can't connect to the internet. The network message in the system tray says I'm connected at 100mbps, but whatever I'm "connected" to at that speed, it's not the internet. Bell Sympatico tech support can't figure out the problem presentl;y. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm using my work computer to access the net. Thanks for your suggestions.

- Thanks for your fast response. A call back to Bell Canada resulted in a second level technician determining that the problem was with the phone line. They said they'll have me up and running in 2.5 days. I guess the DSL wires just don't like minus 18 C temperature, more with windchill. Welcome to Canada.
-   Our deal is similar. We have a gateway 2wire DSL, wireless. Yesterday AM working fine, last night gave error unable to connect. The internet light was red. So I unplugged, reset, etc. Turned off computer etc.. When came back up all lights were green, but when tried to connect to internet, same error and ligth turned back red. This morning I didn't try home computer but tried my laptop and it worked fine. So, not sure what was going on and if desktop still not working, not sure what else to try.-   edkaygray
hmmm...only thing that makes sense here is that your dSL is unhappy...did you check that phone line into the modem? that's what the internet light means when it's out, actually..if its not the line, then it's the modem..

Dlink seems frozen .. the lights for ads power autmatically turn green without attempting any connection .. the ethernight light is red .. even through its got a valid ethernet connection ... problem just started prior to that everything was working well ... Tried to turn off and wait up to 10 mins still no different .. connect the electrical connection .. turn it on and immediately the power and dsl light come on 'green' (normally the dsl light flashes as its connecting and turns green when connected) ... normally the ethernet flashes and then turns green .. now the ethernet light is just red .... Tried to reset .. without luck it won't reset.
