had the same error message "print cartridge(s) missing or not detected" after trading in our used cartridge and buying a refilled one at cartridge world. we thought it might just be a bad cartridge, but have just returned with a different one from there and are still receiving the same message. our next attempt will be to buy a brand new genuine hp cartridge...

we got the printer about a year ago free with rebate from the apple store when we bought an imac. now instead of having crappy prints from a low cartridge, we can't print at all!

Had my printer probably 6mths. Was doing just fine until I printed out a photo - now I get this message and nothing seems to fix it. Probably cost more to send it off to be fixed than to buy something new :-(.

HP C4280 Have the same error message as everyone. Printer worked perfectly yesterday. It has been trouble ever since I bought it I won't be buying HP again.

I also got this free from the Apple store. 6 months later, I get this error message. I don't know whether to buy the same printer or get a new one. I liked it while it worked, but what a waste.

What's probably happening is there is excess ink on caked on to the contacts on the carriage (I think that's what they're called). They're pretty easy to clean and the cleaning process takes about a minute. Just remove whatever cartridges are in the printer, take a cloth that will leave a minimal amount of lint, and wipe at the dark spongey contacts located just below where the cartridges would sit (that is, on my HP C4280, as other models might have them somewhere slightly different, but they should be right around the cartridges' spot). When the caked on ink is removed and all you are wiping at is the sponge, insert the new cartridge and the printer should work.

Do refillable cartridges cause HP 3650 printer to not print????????

Get new ink cartridges. If they sit that long without being used the ink will dry out in the print head part of the cartridge and clog the very small holes. The clogs are inside the cartridge so wiping the outside will not clear the blockage. In the future if you have to leave the unit without it being used for over about a week you should remove the ink carts and put them in a sealed zip lock bag to prevent them from drying out.

10.1000 supply memory error

hi,
10.00X is the error code displayed when
  • Cartridge is not installed correctly
  • Use of refilled cartridges
in your case x is 0 which means that black color cartridge had a problem
problem may persist in slot holding black cartridge and /or in the cartridge

just do steps below

solution 1: check all cartridges are in right slot it is better to remove and fix it again

solution 2:
clean the surface of metal contacts with lint-free cloth
the image below will show metal contacts
c01994458.gif

solution 3: Insert the problem print cartridge into a different slot
Follow these steps to determine if the print cartridge or the slot it sits in is causing the error.
  1. Open the print cartridge door completely.
  2. Press the blue handle on the print cartridge drawer to release it, and then pull the drawer out completely.
  3. Remove one of the non problem print cartridges from its slot.
  4. Install the problem print cartridge into the empty slot.
  5. Install the other print cartridge into the slot of the problem print cartridge.
  6. Close the print cartridge drawer completely.
  7. Close the front access door completely.
  • If the error message persists , replace the problem cartridge with new one(problem is in cartridge)
  • If the error message is gone , contact HP to troubleshoot a faulty slot.
regards,
cseian

"WRONG CARTRIDGE" continues to flash on the screen.

I have experienced the "Wrong Cartridge" error about 4 times in four years. I have never bought a replacement print head. I do occasional printing each week. Typically the problem occurs after a color cartridge goes empty and the ink dried to the print head. The solution for me has been to remove the cartridges, remove the print head, place the print head in hot water in the kitchen sink (softens water based ink that has hardened)and then use a Q-Tip or tissue paper to clean the print head until it is nice and shiny. Reinstall the print head, insert ink cartridges that are not empty, let the printer cycle through a self-test, use the set button to accept vertical and horizontal print patterns and you'll be good to go!
If that doesn't fix it, you'll need to replace the printhead ($49-69 depending on where you buy it.

Dell 926 won't recognize new color cartridge

Try this...shut down the printer. Insert new cartridge, let the printer cycle out with new cartridge. then reboot the computer. This should solve the problem. The cache in the printer will not cycle out. It wants to see the printer as a new entity

Print cartridge in right stall not supported

Are these genuine HP ink. If not try using Original ink.
If its already the original ink then check the Exp date of the ink and try cleaning the copper contacts of the ink ( not the nozzles ) of the ink and the printer
All the best

Black ink full won't print on pages

Why does my machine's LCD show "NO CARTRIDGE" even though I have already installed all the ink cartridges?
Description:
If the message "NO CARTRIDGE" remains on the LCD after you have installed the ink cartridges, then one or more of the cartridges may not be properly installed. Verify that the cartridges are installed correctly by following these steps:

Note
Cartridges that have already been installed are no longer vacuum-sealed, so it is very important that these cartridges remain upright. If a cartridge is removed from the machine and placed on its side, air may be introduced into the ink supply tubes. As a result, repeated cleaning will likely be required before normal print quality is restored.

  1. Unplug the machine from the AC power outlet, wait approximately 10 seconds and then plug it back in.
If the date and time appear on the display, the issue is resolved. If the display continues to show NO CARTRIDGE, continues to Step 2.

  2. Open the scanner cover by lifting it from the right-hand side until it locks securely into the open position.

  3. Remove the black ink cartridge by pulling the white plastic hook (locked over the edge of the ink cartridge) toward you, then lifting the cartridge out.

  4. The LCD should prompt you to install the black ink cartridge.

  5. Reinstall the black cartridge. Press down FIRMLY on the top of the cartridge until it is fully seated. Push the white plastic hook towards the cartridge to verify it is fully latched over the cartridge's top edge. Repeat STEPS 2 - 4 to verify each that of the color cartridges (magenta, cyan and yellow) is installed properly, then continue to STEP.

  6. Close the scanner cover. The unit should begin cleaning automatically.
  7. Good luck, Joe

Time has nothing to do with how long a toner cartridge will last. What is the page count on the cartridge?
Don't expect too much from it if it is the original cartridge that came with the printer as they have a very short fill.
