Sorry Coldcut - you are wrong. The only panel at the bottom is a plastic one about 4 " deep which when removed reveals a solid metal plate. There is no filter for the user to empty and nothing in the instruction book about this. Any more thoughts?

If this is a front load then there is a filter in the bottom access panel of the machine. open the panel 3 screws on bottom, open the large filter and clean it out of debris.

Well could post the model number
it sounds like a portable clothes washer.
I assume the washer fill works ok.
    does it spin at all.
to open the door on some models you hold the signal button 10 seconds.

Hi There
I have this for to read and hope this helps out. Let me know how this works out.
F/05 Water Temperature Sensor Error
If during the water heating step in wash cycle, the water temperature sensor (NTC) value is out of range, or the heating element circuit has failed, the "F/05" error code will be displayed.
  • Check the Water Temperature Sensor, Heating Element and Element Relay
  • Check connections to the Sensor, Heating Element and Relay
Thank you for writing to fix ya.

F-05

F05 machine means "Pressure switch jammed"

Try first cutting power to the machine for two minutes, if that reset the code, then the problem was temporary.

If not :

Check if the machine drained, or if water is not being drained.

If drain system works .take off the the lid , locate the switch, it must have a small hose attached.
Remove the rubber hose attached to it, and unlock it by blowing into the hose.

If the water does not drain, this will also cause the pressure switch error.
In this case check the drain hose , and the drain pump.

Finally, ta faulty timer control board can cause the error, you test the control PCB if lid switch and drain system are OK.

Lower the outlet hose into a low bowl, if water flows then you need a new pump cost around 20 pound to buy, If no water comes out the you have a blockage somewhere.

Maytag Neptune Top Load Washer - Rinse Cycle won't run - Machine says nF

Sounds like the 'Wash water' is not pumping out fully,You need to drain the water by lowering the empty hose into a bowl & check the pump for a blockage ( if the pump is an 'electric one' check that it is working). TURN POWER OFF FIRST
