Washing machine water pump

I have a mwx233res0 westing house washing machine top loader. I am not getting the water out of the washing machine. Would this be the water pump? If so would it be a belt I would need to replace?

I have a 30 year old Kenmore 80, (Whirlpool), that never had a problem until I replaced the pump, because the old one seized a year ago. The new pump's design is flawed and it slowly accumulates lint near the exit port of the pump, until that lint slows the flow to the point where it won't empty the washer properly.

I am pissed, this is the replacement part Sears sells for the washer that they sold me and it's obviously not compatible with washing machines that don't have lint traps.

If anyone knows where I can get another pump like the one that came with my machine, please let me know.

Disassembling the pump every month or two is unacceptable.

I am writing this 6 months from when I started having problems after replacing the pump with one from Sears. The new pump just kept clogging and finally I bought and installed another new one, and haven't had a problem since.

I tried to get sears to give me a new one since the one they origionally sold me was defective, but they wouldn't and insisted there couldn't be anything wrong with it.

AFter 6 months of flawless washing, using the new pump, am certain the one they sold me the first time was just defective, and really pissed that they didn't give a damn, or even refund my money once it was obvious I was right.

Their jerks who just went to sell customers new washers, even when the old ones are better than the new ones.

It is posible that something is blocking the water pump wheel from turning and getting the water out....You have to do a visual check....and listen if the water pump motor is working...hopfuly then you have just to clean the water pump from debris , like lint, hair, or a shirt buton.

LG wt1101c top loader washer is spraying water out of the drain pump. There is a small pin hold on the top of the pump.Is this hole on purpose?Should a lot of water spray out of it?Just got it Monday!

No there are no supposed to be any holes in the body of the water pump. It might be a casting failure during manufacturing. The only time I have seen holes on water pumps is when bobby pins get stuck in the pump and the impellor drives them through the housing. Call for warranty repair.

Ytek.netwe just moved into a house with a duet washing machine- a few years old. when we do a normal clean cycle, it doesnt appear there is that much water getting used. How much water should we see thru...

All front loaders use very little water as a opposed to a top loader that uses up to 45 gallons per load a front loader uses about 10,plus a front loader cleans clothes very well with that minimal water usage.
The major question is do the clothes seem to come out clean when you have used that washer?

check the pump for a blockage,if the water cantget out of the wash tub,the machine senses this and wont spin out the load, also make sure to check both sides of the pump from the tub to pump and pump to house drain sides

I NEED TO REPLACE THE BELT ON A SPEED QUEEN TOP LOADER,HOW DO YOU TAKE OFF THE PLASTIC WHITE WATER PUMP HOUSING TO BET TO THE BELT?

You have to remove the entire motor/pump assembly. Two screws in the front, and two on the rear of the metal mount bracket. There are 3 screws holding the pump on you can get to once it is removed.

Machine will not empty water, new pump installed today still no joy any ideas

Whether a front loader or a top loader, you are probably missing a sock. My guess being a sock or similar sized article has escaped the tub and is obstructing the water discharge to the pump. How to get to it depends on the top loader/front loader/make/model thing.

Leaking water in washing machine

Front loader or Top Loader? If front loader you probably put to much in and at spin cycle the tub hit the hose to the pump and possibly got knocked off?

13 y.o. Kenmore washer, won't agitate, pump, or spin, just hums.

Sounds like your pump went out or the drain is plugged, more than likely you will need to replace the pump.

depending on the make and the model, especially if it is a top loader, try replacing the belt. when the belts get older they stretch and slip a little, just enought o cause your problem
