Same problem. TV starts to come on, you can hear the high voltage engage in the tube, sometimes a small bit of light from the front of the tube, then the whole system shuts down. Maybe some kind of protection circuit detecting an overvoltage? Or faulty HV transformer? A repair manual and/or schematics would be loved/cherished/greatly appreciated.

powers up and then turns off. no visible damage on the circuit boards. anyone have a service manual?

My Samsung TX-R2765 is not turning on any more. At first it would turn on then go off after an hour or so. So I bought the air in the can and blew air around the back to blow off any dust that may had settled in there. It seemed to work...no problems for about 8mo. Then it started it again, did the air thing again, but this time it won't stay on. I have my manual and thats no help. The pic is great, no damage to the TV, just won't stay on. HELP!

I was working on this model with the same problem. It is shutting down because the +14 was missing from the vertical IC. I traced it back to a resistor that had burnt. I have no way of knowing it's value because I have no schematic. If you find what it is, please post.

There is a part inside the TV that needs to be replaced. If the TV is under warranty, call the manufacturer and they will arrange to have your set repaired at little, or no cost to you.

If the TV is out of warranty, and you have the experience and you know what you're doing, you can fix the unit yourself; first, you'll need to purchase the service manual from Samsung. Otherwise, if you've never done anything like this type of repair before and you don't know where to start, I suggest speaking with an experienced TV repair-person.

If you take the TV to a repair shop for out of warranty repair, the cost will likely be a minimum of $200 parts and labor. However, be warned that the cost could be considerably higher.

Since some brands will pay for your repair even if you're out of warranty, you should contact the manufacturer for your full range of options.

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure to vote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you today.

Please post a comment if you need additional assistance so that I can help you further.

During dark images on my TV, several green lines are visible across the TV.

You may have an arc in the screen and focus circuits. Water may have gotten into these circuits causing a delayed reaction. (Circuits Corroded). These circuits at least part of them are a part of the high voltage transformer (flyback). Your picture tube socket has spark gaps inside of it too which may be arcing. You need to have it checked by a tech to find out just what is arcing. Stargazer
